Only one thing to mention: Wood looks like he's getting better the fitter he gets, and the more confident he feels. He's a bit Harry Kaneish in style, so fingers crossed for the rest of the season. Wood went down the pecking order at Foxes under Pearson, but Vardy gets an England call ffs, Wood is better than Vardy and he aint good enough for England either (Even though the Harry K comparison) Woy needs to get a grip of himself if he thinks Vardy is England

Martin's turn and shot was class, and would have done most defenders ... Cooper was solid and it was just that bit of magic that did him ... sometimes you have to applaud quality

Of more concern as how much standing and watching we did in the build up instead of getting into em and pressing the ball. That trait is the one that has worried me more than any other over the last fifty or so games I have watched most recently.

I agree that Philips can cover for Adeyemi. Comfortably. I'm not sure what type of player Philips will develop into, as he has a really broad range of skills. I've said before that the first time I saw him, I likened him to a young Graeme Souness. I haven't seen anything since to change my mind.

One point I do disagree on is his tackling. If you look at the 'defensive' tab under 'Leeds Squad' in this link, you'll see that his tackling average is way ahead of everyone else. Sol Bamba is the closest - and Adeyemi scores about half of Philips' average! ... http://www.whoscored.com/Teams/19

Nothing wrong with disagreeing with me Josh, it makes for good debate and that's what the forums for, would be a boring forum if we all agreed on everything.

I did ask the question, and no ones replied,

What exactly is the impact that Cook brings to midfield?

While some say they don't follow stats, opta stats had his performance score quite low last season, and, even though he's only played 2 games, they have him 3rd from bottom of the list of Leeds players; the two below him, Murphy and Wootton have - performance scores. Top 3 are Bamba, Taylor and Antenucci.

Opta gave him an 11 for the Derby game and 5 for the Burnley game.

Don't take my word for it though.

Excellent point, and the one big issue I have with Cook and Mowatt ... they are prone to stop and watch when another ten yards gets them in front of the back four and filling space ... Phillips has the same issue, but they're young and learning, which is why Murphy has to come in for one of the kids

He showed up everywhere on the pitch, was driving from midfield, kept the ball well
Fair enough. When I say he needs to improve in the tackle though I just noticed in the Shef Wed game that he lost the ball and then went to try and recover and they out muscled him a few times. I haven't seen him play much, I do confess.

Josh, sometimes when he runs with the ball, it's like poetry in motion. He's got a low centre of gravity, great poise & balance. Oddly enough, some of the time you could confuse him with wee Lennon when he glides with the ball. I haven't noticed him getting knocked off the ball. No saying it hasn't happened - just haven't noticed (rose tinted spectacles? :D ). I do know that he can be a dirty little barsteward when it suits him - a la Scholes. Love it!! :D

Shall I change my stance Marcos, and from now on agree with everything you say, shall I make my opinions same as yours so I can become like you.

If I'm such a tool because I have my own opinions, what does that say about you, a person who obviously doesn't recognise the fact others are entitled to their opinions too without malice.

So Marcus, what's it like living in a tool shed?

Looks to me like you're trying to create a gang up Jock, you got Marcus on side though.

I'm not going to get caught up in a childish war of words with you Jock, it's childish.

You obviously seem to have a reason for starting to have a go at me, whatever it may be, I don't know, maybe one day you'll decide to share that reason with me.

Your opinion is different to mine, my opinion is different to yours, is that a reason to show malice towards someone, or anyone?.

If someone is going to be called a dickhead or tool because he has a different opinion, would that mean there's a lot of cocks and blunt chisels on this forum, including yourself?.........:emoticon-0148-yes:

Nope. Cook is a bit Scholesy at times.

Philips I compare to a young Souness.

Both dirty barstewards when it suits them. :D
