Montoya finishes 6th meaning he finishes level on points with Dixon, but Dixon wins championship on race wins. Great stuff and a fitting tribute to Justin Wilson.

Amazingly the radio stations effectively come free. No TV, no problem. The couple of radio channels I would not miss are Radio 1 and 1X, but I understand that they are important to many. I could also do without CBBC and Three on TV, but of course, the BBC is not just for me. Of those I tune into, they tend to be the best examples of any channels out there, imo. Personally, if BBC Two and Four, and Radio 4, 4 Extra, and 5L were removed I'd probably give my TV and Radios away. Honest.

No matter what people think of Cameron, Murdoch or the BBC it needs signing for one reason: how the hell can the owner of a media empire be consulted over the running of what is in effect his competitor. That's shocking.

    Here's the petition:

Woke up a bit earlier this morning, after going for a few drinks with some old faces last night. Odd.

Also, I had a Guinness for the first time. Verdict? Decidedly... hmm. I have no opinion, as far as I think.

Guinness is usually a grower, give it time.

    Guinness is good for you.

*just don't be perturbed if your poo is very dark with a white whippy bit on top*

Let me give you my opinion and we'll see if it gets anywhere near yours...

By its looks alone, Guinness promises so much with its ultra dark liquid and dense white head. And all that advertising they lavish on it as well brings expectation of something extra special.

And it falls absolutely flat. Sure it looks good, but as soon as you take a sip, gulp, or however you think you could possibly make the darned drink taste better, it is beaten on flavour by dozens of different beers. Personally, I don't think its anywhere near even the best tasting stout. Indeed, there's at least one local stout that can be had in The Wheatsheaf in Shedfield which blows it away completely. Sadly, that one has so little hype about it that I can't even remember its name.

So, DTLW. Are we in the same ballpark.?

I think I'm turning into a man....lying on sofa at 11.30 and just eaten pizza for breakfast. :) Why is that move to wash and dress so hard.

With you there TSS. Draught Guiness tastes nicer in Ireland, but that's probably because they don't serve it ice-cold (whose crackbrained idea was that?). The only Guiness worth drinking these days is the bottled West Indian Porter, which resembles the bottled Guiness I used to drink as a teenager. And there are some great alternatives to try wherever you go these days. If you're ever in Somerset have a go at Butcombe Old Vic Porter, which is gorgeous.

Yes, it tastes OK in Ireland [fizzy-pop in NZ] but nothing to write home about, imo. And yeah, what is it about all this ice-cold rubbish.? If you want to remove flavour from a drink you chill it. The colder you make it, the less flavour it has. Baffling. The only alcoholic beverages I really enjoy are between cellar and room temperature.

Incidentally, I've been enjoying a few bottles of Shepard Neame's Bishop's Finger. Now that says serve chilled on the label, but in fact, it is a tremendous bottled beer at room temperature. If only draught Guinness tasted half as good as that.

I shall look out for the porter.! :)

Got a dilemma. Had slice of pizza at 11.00. If that truly was breakfast I can't have a pudding, but if it was technically an early lunch I can have the last helping of plum crumble in the fridge.

Pizza cannot be classified as breakfast therefore it was an early lunch. Therefore you can have the crumble. :)
