Thought Pack did ok today. Nothing special good or bad. Both him and Smith had plenty of the ball but too often seemed to be looking for options. We were finding it difficult to break down a well organised side.
There is a pattern forming and it's most annoying, problem is which one of the plebs do we get to deal with it, Cotts is obviously fighting but no one seems to be listening.
My thoughts exactly wizered. When someone else is pulling your strings then you might get choked in the process. Beware.
What would you give to have a private conversation with Cotts on the understanding that nothing he said would be said elsewhere. Total honesty is what we need here and the chances of it coming don't even exist.
Hope he does not do what the other SC did and walk. That all comes down to the board. Bearing in mind his friendship with Keith Dawe. That could be what is keeping him here at present.
Only the most deluded of fans expected a top 6 finish this year and as I said straight after the Sheffield Wednesday game, this is the reality of the Championship. Wednesday aren't going to be challenging for anything this year, but they were superior to us in every area. It's a tough league full of tough teams that will exploit any mistake or missed opportunities that we hand them. And we've already seen this in abundance so far this season, as we've thrown away points left right and centre. This season is about finding our feet and building a squad capable of mounting a challenge over the next few seasons. But we need to seriously strengthen whether it's by buying or loaning, and provide proper competition for all places in the first XI but we're a small provincial club that few players seem to want to come to,
He is not awful but gets caught in possession too often in dangerous areas and is awol when defending. This has cost us in a number of games so far where his mistakes have lead to us conceding. He is not good enough for the championship on what he has shown so far.
Hi Guys anybody know why when I post a reply it keeps putting line breaks where there is none? Browser?
'This has cost us in a number of games so far where his mistakes have lead to us conceding' Wrong. Sheffield Wed : Williams and Fielding. Brentford : Freeman and then Williams twice. Leeds : Fredericks lost the ball 60 yards from our goal and then Hamer/Ref ? Burnley : Ayling was out muscled and Williams played a dreadful crossfield ball that led to the corner for their 2nd. (Flint gave Williams a right bo****ing) Pack along with Korey, Reid and Flint were our best players yesterday.
I think having a player who can PUT THE BALL IN THE NET would be a big asset for us about now, which makes one wonder about Mr Baldock
Thought Pack played pretty well yesterday and as that is the first live game I've seen can't comment beyond that. Williams seems to be struggling and Little still isn't fit.We played by far the better football in the first half and were guilty of poor defending for two soft goals - again. While I understand Cotterill being frustrated he knew our budget constraints when he joined us surely? If he insists on asking the club to chase players that don't fit into our budget he is setting us up to fail. I think it is wrong to blame the board for failing to pay with money we haven't got. SC and the Board need to compromise on realistic targets before it is too late.
Quite scarey really when reid who has struggled to break into the team was MOM,and pack, the weakest link in the games played so far was probably the next best player on the pitch. Signings are required before Tuesday. Realistic ones who we are prepaired to pay the wages.
I know, I posted elsewhere about Reid and Burns not being able to get in a League 1 side and not only are we relying on them, we are shouting Reids name from the roof tops. That great, but I'm sure that wasn't the plan
I think most of us knew before the season started that Wilbs/Agard would struggle to make an impact at this level. The signing of Kojak lifted spirits but he needs a younger and more talented partner up front than what we have now. Reid needs more time to develop to see whether he can be a threat in this division.
Burnley : Ayling was out muscled and Williams played a dreadful crossfield ball that led to the corner for their 2nd. (Flint gave Williams a right bo****ing) ... then Flint got flat footed and didn't attack the cross. Another view is that Wednesday apart City at times have played quite well and very well. It's fine margins, Margins in Ayling and Flints case Saturday they will know themselves they can put right. It is not a train crash.
