What can I say? Best team won. Rooney failed to lead the line or take his chances, Depay had a poor game, as did Schneiderlin. Schweinsteiger ran midfield to no end and Shaw is superb. Smalling also good again. That goalie is an accident waiting to happen and WILL become a weak link. Great ideas to sell rvp and let De Gea fester, abso ****ing lutely brilliant management. Possession and passing mean **** all with no cutting edge. Very disappointing.
It's official, Rooney is finished (oh I've already said it before). Why can't lvg see it? Its obvious we won't go too far with Rooney spearheading our attack, forget club brugge, they are just terrible. Now we have just 2 days to get a striker. Also I've said it before, playing young on the right wing is useless. Either play him on the left or don't play him at all. As far as I'm concerned Mata is better off on the right than young. Lvg should have subbed Memphis who had a bad game for young.
The problem isn't Depay or Mata or even Rooney (although we do need a striker), the problem is Van Gaal and the style of football. How many times did our players run 10 yards forward only to stop, check back and pass backwards or sideways. A player like Depay needs to have the shackles let loose. What Van Gaal is doing is actually stunting/suffocating the natural game of players like Depay, Herrera, Mata... and yes even Rooney.
