Unlikely to be any totally new names by the looks of it. Glad Shelvey will be in - he's a better passer than a few other midfielders who have been picked in the last couple of years.

Any suggestions for unlikely call-ups? Think Woy is watching Callum Wilson?

Leicester's Jamie Vardy and Swansea's Jonjo Shelvey will be in Roy Hodgson's England squad for Euro 2016 qualifiers against San Marino and Switzerland when it is announced on Sunday evening.

Shelvey, 23, won his only cap against San Marino in 2012.

Hodgson has kept faith with Vardy after the striker was fined by his club amid claims of a racial slur in a casino.

There is no point in England qualifying for competitions whilst Hodgson remains in charge.

Clueless FA will no doubt extend his contract to 2018.

Lesta fans want Albrighton in, while Palace fans want Dann and Puncheon in.

In other words, the cupboard is pretty bare.

I find it deeply depressing that we have the likes of Smalling, Verdy and Shelvey anywhere near the England team, they're decent players for a mid-table Premier League team, but they're never international quality footballers (unless you're Scotland).

He is, he's exactly the sort of player we should have gone for, but we looked out of his depth at Liverpool and I expect the same with England.

As along time hater of Chris smalling I'd normally be on that bandwagon, but I actually think in the last 6 months he's looked a lot better as a cb

Smallings improved a hell of a lot recently, Shelvey is a bit underrated maybe, totally agree about Vardey

My unlikely call up would be Mark Noble but he is one of the unfashionable types, a modern day Steve Bruce of England, if I was him would invent an Irish grandad

If you're putting in players who are completely out their depth might as well put in Lee Cattermole.

I personally think Shelvey is ****e. One trick pony - shoot every time he gets the ball regardless of where it is on the pitch.

Don't know what's wrong with that link but this works! http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/34095858
This shows the squad, bloody awful! http://www.thefa.com/england/mens-seniors/squad

Jay Rodriguez looks like he's coming back to some sort of form, however seeing the likes of Heaton & Green as the other 2 keepers doesn't instill me with confidence in anything England related. Even though he's not got off to a flyer I'd still take Kane. The problem is that the top clubs have so many foreigners in their teams that it's difficult for English players to get in their teams, that's why the England team is having to pick lower league players, we're basically doing what Wales, ROI, NI & Scotland have been doing for years. I never thought that would happen when I was a kid, sad days for sure.
Having said that there must be someone better, I can't believe Butland isn't in there somewhere!

That squad on the FA site is an old one, mate. It hasn't been announced yet, and Cleverley certainly won't be in it when it is.

Yeah, and according to that link Woy has picked himself too. I know there's not a lot to choose from but still...

Ok cheers, thought it was a bit weird, but there isn't a great number of players that's going to change for England unfortunately!
