Game 1. Disjointed performance. Clean sheet. Lucky victory because of wonder goal. Game 2. Played ok if not convincing. Clean sheet. Lucky victory because of blunder ref. Game 3. Played very well. Looked a different team. Unlucky to drop points. Game 4. Played like crap. Got a crap result. 4 games in and we've only had one good performance so far. Just like last year I'm scratching my head wondering where the goals will come from. (Studge if he ever heals). Benteke is better than Balotelli but doesn't fit our style. Lovren has makes inexcusable errors and still gets picked. I think Skrtel has been ok but Lovren needs to go.
I really think you should have waited for 5 games 5 results... just to rubber stamp the complete capitulation
Only one legal goal in 4 games is worrying though. 3 straight clean sheets was nice but 1 goal in 4 games is disgraceful.
To be honest had we won at Arsenal and been 9 points from 12 no one would probably be too concerned... Although before Arsenam we looked shakey. We're very inconsistent, that's our problem.
Benteke's goal was only illegal by a technicality, Coutinho had **** all real impact Cech made a couple of world class (literally world class, not Man Utd standard) against us to keep a clean sheet But generally we need more people around Benteke for support and his passes
Benteke doesn't create for himself. He's a talented guy but needs someone to create for him. That person will probably be Coutinho when he isn't carded.
Or Firmino, who would have except for Cech's save of the year Milner can play a decent cross or cutback too And Hendo consistently creates
Yeh they're all brilliant. It's just bcos of a poor ref decision, or the goalpost, or the wind blowing in the wrong direction, that you don't have a goal difference of +100. At some point after 25 years you'd think the delusion and excuses will stop and reality will dawn
If you look at Benteke's prem. goals he does make them for himself on occasion..........against us once or twice
Context is useful here. It was 45 mins v arsenal not 90. Bournemouth on the other hand never troubled us at all. Stoke should have scored against us. A draw was a fair result there. .... Imo we have been consistent in the level. Today was three amateur errors from 3 defenders plus a managerial brain fact plus a stupid boy as well. Leave that aside though......we have beven consistently playing in one half of pitch... relying on longer ball to benteke, scratchy in midfield and not able to hold the ball.
You looked the better team for half a game. You do realise that Arsenal were completely disjointed and crap in that first half don't you?
Ok so our clean sheets were slightly soiled... But Still pretty good to get out of there with nill in the conceded column... Even if we had a little help from the refs.
