I'm calm, but what does annoy me about this whole situation is, who's got Ron's back? He looks thoroughly hacked off at the moment, the injury is obviously causing him discomfort, but why VW isn't coming out and saying something to take the pressure off him at this difficult time, well it just really gets my goat. A lot of these players owe Ron, & the club, and us lot who shout them on week in week out, is it too much to ask a player to respect those little things? It seems to be nowadays.

Some people need to take deep breaths. This forum is getting a bit too close to being like Saintsweb for my liking.

Last season, the build up to closing the transfer window was exciting, we'd been ripped to pieces and rebuilt. This year, we're still being ripped to pieces to the end of the window. The football, last year, was good. This year it is abysmal. Isn't there just the teensiest bit to worry about?

It isn't worrying when it has already happened. It is called getting very very very drunk.

I have never been very very drunk, even when I drunk too much I was just comfortably numb and no bother to anyone.

Short memory? West Brom at home? 0-0. I came on this forum defending the team and club because it was our second game!! People moaned like hell because it was a bore fest and we couldn't create anything.

Remember that, or is the old memory selective? :)

I understand what you're saying [knowing full well I'm part of that problem] but I can sort of see the other side. All the moaners and nay-sayers, with the exception of a few loons, want the same as every Saints fan on this forum. The club to do really well, play great attractive football and to be a bit more successful every season.

Now I would say most people who post, despite what they post, [myself included], know deep down that 8th and 7th meant we were being really spoiled and as top level football team mid-table and fairly good cup run is all we will ever get.

BUT that doesn't mean that we aren't going to get frustrated, angry, upset or all three at the same time, [usually irrationally, yes me again], and maybe vent too much, too loud and too long. Surely that is part of being the supporter of a 'football club'?

It is the stupidity of it all, the irrational anger and frustration that goes against all logic, that makes it nothing like anything else you do in your life.

A lot of us will come off as whingers and manic-depressives for a few days but I feel most people will calm down and as it has been mentioned previously two wins in a row and half of this will be forgotten.

For the record I am massively frustrated by two main things - all that hard work to qualify for the Europa League, all the talk and then go out with a whimper, [knowing if we're honest it won't happen again for another ten years or so] and then the mental tactics that we are playing, just because we're short a few players.

Surely no one, not one true football fan, is happy with hoofball? Even the BBC on Thursday night said it was weird tactics and substitutions.

Finally I'd rather people go a bit loopy for a day or two over their favourite football team than just go 'm'eh' if we lose 3-0 at home to Norwich on Sunday.

Sorry for the stream of conciousness but that's it for a while now, even if we do lose 3-0, I promise.

I think it's going to be a long hard season for you guys, you've pretty much sold a first XI since end of 13/14 season. you surprised everyone last year, plugging the holes well and keeping Morgan, but I think this year those gaps may tell, losing in the Uefa has done you a big favour IMO, your squad looks even more threadbare than ours. Whether the rumours on Wanyama are true or not, you have to look at it from his point of view, footballers are ambitious, and Southampton aren't really showing any by selling up almost as soon as offers are made. He's sat and watched how many of his team-mates leave for more ambitious teams (I hesitate to say better, Liverpool could give Rogers £1b and they'd still be ****), I don't think I've seen a club raided like yours has been without being relegated first, or being in severe financial trouble.

No problem with any of that Shepherds, but what gets me is how quickly you guys appear to "turn" on the club. We can all see it isn't great right now, but you turn ludicrously about 170 degrees in only a handful of games.

When I see that, I like to defend he club, even though I may be just as frustrated as you.

Each to their own. I just feel some people are overreacting. I get people being annoying and wanting to moan. But it has to be put into context. Yes we have had a poor start but we did the same last year as well. People seem to think after a big change of players we will suddenly click and play teams off the park it isn't going to happen.

This season is a transition year, we have lost our best player and will miss him. I think people need to realise we most probably won't finish top ten this season as it is very much a rebuild one.

The real problem is people get carried away thinking we can all of a sudden compete with a top 6, which is far from true. Last year was just a one of great season. Saints want to eventually get there but it will take time, instead of chucking cash at it like most teams do we want to grow slowly. We need to grow are off pitch business and our on pitch as well which will take time. There is no point in have a very good team if we can't afford the wages due to low income. People just need to be patient.

Please don't say 'you guys' I am a Saints fan, have been since my brother used to punch me unless I remembered Saints starting line up in about 1966. I haven't really turned on the club or the management but I am bewildered by the tactics and some of the lacklustre showings.

I haven't moaned about any signings or LR or the owners, it's just mainly the tactics, I cannot get my head around them. Surely our back up players are not so poor, so inept, that they can only be trusted to hoof the ball to Pelle? Makes no sense to me and no one has be able to offer a sensible explanation that I have read.

    And that finally is that.

Inside Out and pizza afterwards with the grandkids and my long-suffering wife tomorrow. :emoticon-0105-wink:

We get the same at Upton Park, fans booing because we're not winning, forgetting where we were 3 years ago, and 5 years before that, etc.

Totally agree Beefy. I think most fans realise this and I would have no issue with a lower league finish this season. I also have no issue with the club. My gripe is the players who want to jump ship at unreasonable times, ie the ****yama rumours. I have no problem with Morgan or really with Clyne, as both left before / at the start of pre season giving the club plenty of time with recruiting replacements. But players kicking up a stink (no smoke without fire) several days before the window shuts, just leaves a bad taste. COYR

I said "you guys" to distinguish those that you described as moaners and included yourself in. What is you want me to describe you as, " those miserable twats"?? :)

Shepherds - I started the day trying to cheer you up and have up. (You've moaned a lot today, so much that I nearly called the Samaritans for you :) ) I'm finishing it be continually trying to show the positive side.
