    Hm, I thought it was likely after reading that, but then i read the first part ( http://www.sundaysun.co.uk/sport/ne...erdinc-s-st-james-park-switch-79310-29068646/ ) and this came up- Not that Sturridge would come cheap – Chelsea are asking for a seven-figure loan fee and for interested clubs to cover the lucrative contract of the striker.

    I doubt that Ashley would sanction this especially if the papers are right and he is on 70k a week!

    I would rather have Sturridge than Erdinc (although I would still love to have him if we can get him) however something tells me we will get neither!

    How would you interpret the reference to Ashley saying further players sold would be needed to
    fund additional new signings? Is that after a striker or to get a striker!?

    It doesn't look like Chelsea are selling anyone so they've got Drogba, Torres, Anelka and Kalou who would all be looking for first team football.
