Makienok with a hamstring injury, just what we need.

    0-0 HT.

Wolves on top with someone called Henry orchestrating their attacks, but Charlton came into it more as the half wore on. No big chances or incidents. Suits us.

We have no-one to bring on when (not if) Vetokele tires. I wonder if Ba or Sarr can play up front?

We really have to sign a centre-forward now whether permanently or on loan for three months..

Simon? You on first name terms with him?

The thing is, that trio are always going to get injured from time to time. Vetokele and Watt because of their style, and Makienok because he is so awkward. (My old mum would have said "That boy has outgrown his strength.")

Not only do we need another centre-forward, we need a different type from what we now have. An all-rounder like Bent was, though obviously we won't find anyone that good. Someone who can play off Makienok, or whom Watts or Vetokele can play off.

Ba on for A-G after the break. Looks like Vetokele is not going to be allowed to tire. JBG pushed forward a bit more.

55 mins. 0-1 Gudmundsson after good work from Vetokele. Ikeme should have saved it though. Charlton on top since restart with Ba prominent.

We are now in an automatic promotion spot!

Charlton hanging on like they did against Hull at this stage. Edwards and LeFondre have missed good chances. And again there will be lots of extra time. I will settle for a repeat of the last two minutes though.

FT 2-1. The Addicks gave it their all. Cannot ask for more. RD needs to support GL and the team by signing a couple of players in the necessary positions.

When Wolves needed a goal they brought on LeFondre. When we needed a goal we only had a midfielder available, our new Swiss signing, Zimmerframe.

Nine away wins out of eleven matches in our division. Unusual?

Trouble is, their best is not good enough. I mentioned it recently, our squad is way too thin to sustain a challenge from bookings and injuries. Largely because our owners refuse to invest. Until today we have been fortunate; perhaps today was simply a hiccup; time will tell. However, l thought it before the season started, and l have seen nothing to make me change my mind to date; we will finish bottom half, and will do well to avoid the drop. Obviously, l hope l am wrong!

We're not short of strikers, we're short of fit strikers. Our only fit striker is a youngster learning his trade. Let's hope this situation is due to a freak set of circumstances, but I'm not so sure it is. Igor, according to those who were there, was not at all fit and is carrying a bit of timber. Watt has often looked less than 100% fit, Big Mak is an unknown quantity, and Reza as far as I know doesn't have fitness issues. We'll see.
