Hi All just back from my Montreal trip and although a bit jet lagged I am ready to continue with the all time WFC Dream Team. The centre back pairing went to John McClelland & Ian Bolton, JM was the clear winner but IB was a fair way clear of third!

    So far we have:
    GK: TC
    RB: Nigel Gibbs
    LB: Robbo
    CB: J Mac
    CB: Ian Bolton

So we move onto the Left Midfield spot, the candidates so far are:
    John Barnes
    Ashley Young
    Adam johnson
    Hameur Bouazza
    Glyn Hodges
    Peter Kennedy
    Joni McAnuff

    A few questions for you:

1/ Do you want Ashley Young in the right midfield spot or left?
2/ was Stewart Scullion a left or Right midfielder?
3/ Anyone missing that should be on the list?

Poll to follow once we get a full list of candidates (I am sure all the older Horns will have a few candidates from days gone by)

Ashley Young should be on the right side - but in our dream team, he can wander where he likes!

Stewart Scullion was a right winger - in fact right out on the touchline..........

Please don't forget Gary Porter as one of our best LM; in a succession of poor teams he often stood out.

Kenny Jackett started off life as a LB but played most of his best games for the club as a LM.

It's a sad indictment of our left-sided players over the years if Bouazza and McAnuff feature in a shortlist.

    I'd go for Barnes, obviously.

Adam Johnson, our team fell apart when his loan ended.

Surely John Barnes has to be played as one of the strikers? Was he ever in 'midfield'?

I think these days Vic a left winger is classified as left midfield! Since people invented 451, which in my opinion is 433 , but now since diamond formations and the like have come about a winger is a midfielder for some strange reason!

Can we clarify, by Left Midfield you mean WIDE left. Left midfield is one of the central 2 in a midfield 4, where Callaghan and Barnes were wide.

If its left winger you're after, there really only is one - John Barnes.

PS : if you can have Joni McAnuff, can I have Jobi Mitchell ........ oh no SHE was a singer!

To be honest, why bother having a vote? Just stick Barnsey's name in and move on! <laugh>

Have to agree BB, I never had the pleasure of watching him terrorise defences in our colours (I was a late developer to WFC 89-90) <laugh>

Our club is 130 years old and on the list is a winger who play for about a month with us???? Has to be Barnes, no one else comes close!
