I really do disagree with you here. Everyone was having a go at Wood after the Wednesday game and I just don't understand what fans are expecting of him to be honest. In the first half particularly I thought he played really well. He brought the ball down well and linked the play bringing in the midfield. He had a 10-15 minute spell at the start of the second half where he was poor but so was the whole team. Then he was doing well again after that and should've scored from Ant's cross. Having said that more than made up for it with his goal. He is the only real lone striker we have
Totally agree mate. Some people rave about antenucci but I think wood is a country mile better. Antenucci plays for himself not the team and watch antenucci carefully in the build up to the goal and even more so his reaction to it compared to the other players.
I was trying to say he proved me wrong - same in the Wednesday game - I was screaming for him to be taken off and then he scores the equalizer I still think he basic skills are short of what's required and he doesn't hold the ball up well enough to play as a lone striker - maybe this will give him confidence ? Whatever his merits, he is an aggressive striker but he's got to work on his touch and yes he missed a good chance before scoring the winning goal Main problem though is the midfield - Leeds need a leader there - a holding midfielder
Watching this 3rd tier sport at Wembley. Can anyone explain the point of a rugby league scrum, or why being a load of old girls, they give the ball back every 6 tackles?
If watching grown men spending all afternoon sniffing their groins is your thing stick to rah rah. 6 tackles and turn over is better than kicking the ball off the paddock twice a minute
My take today we have grown up forward and upwards I was screaming for Mowatt and Byram to be replaced got my way Wood although he missed a sitter in the second half had a good game along with Tay;or Samba no doubt we will have the anti christs on again but we beat a side who whatever any one says were firm favourites for promotion for 45 minutes we totally out played them We can only get better now this will give the lads great confidence ,Well done MOT
Shows how little you know Chippy. Kicking the ball down the pitch helps improve field position. At least when there's a line out resulting from the kick, the attacking side can compete for the ball. They also have proper scrums, rucks and mauls where, in each case, both sides compete for the ball. As you'll see in the forthcoming world cup where, unlike league, the final isn't pre-determined, you'll see proper rugby
