Robert Huth scythes down Callum Wilson, then when he is lying on the ground he smashes the ball into his face. and then when another Bournemouth player comes across to protest he smashes the Bournemouth player in the face with his arm. Three possible red card offences so naturally he gets a yellow!!

 

People can say what they like but that performance bar grit and determination was absolutely ****e.

The thing to ask - If you got all of the PL refs in a room and ask if they would give a red, how many would say yes? Surely, if it is excessive force then all would. My issue that I suspect less than half would. That being the case it wasn't. It was mis-timed, but no excessive force. Yelliw for me.

 

And Noble's was ridiculous as well

I have seen far far worse. It was a natural movement of the foot and mis-timed. There's a photo of Cazorla's reaction doing the rounds. To say he is shocked by the card tells you what pro's think. Mis-timed challenges are part and parcel of the game. Poorly timed and careless. Dangerous? No

 

Look mate you can't go around doing stupid things like that.

I guarantee the fans arguing would argue vice versa also.

For me, he was trying to get the ball. His eyes were on getting the ball. Are we saying that red cards should be issued for every mis-timed challenge now? If so, we might as well get rid of contact.

 

I thought we were never in it today before the sending off. The one thing we have this season which has been missing in recent seasons is grit, we seem to be digging in. However quality has not improved in terms of with the ball. We have yet to develop any sort of clear pattern of play under McClaren but he needs time. Our treatment of the football will need to improve massively if we are to enjoy this season. We just give it away so easily at present.

Mitro's looked harsh but I haven't seen it on TV. His foot was up but it happened so quickly. Fans were right on at the ref, I didn't think he made that many bad calls being brutually honest.

I'd like to see us go and get a left back. Haidara was all over the shop early doors today, teams are just picking him off. That said he had a good 2nd half. Tightened up and made some good tackles.

Arsenal are poor mind. They are so slow with moving the ball, they didn't actually threaten that much. It was a good time to get them but we just never got going and then the sending off killed it. Opportunity missed for me as we will not get them at a better moment. We are searching for some form and flow to our play. The fixtures looked tough, but to be honest I think we have caught all but Swansea at a good moment. In that regard, 2 points is slightly disappointing.

Anita had another good game today, he worked his socks off. Mbemba is a class act. I thought Gini was pretty poor, and Sissoko too. Most did ok but no more, they tried though which the fans in the stadium appreciated. They now need to give some quality back.
