Isn't it funny when ever the Geordie press come up with these worthless polls. They always have one of there own on top.

Well he's a couple of names for ya.

Tom Watson. 3 x English champions.

Johnny Cochrane. 1 x English Champions, 1 x FA Cup.

To be fair, Joe Harvey got European success. Bob Stokoe is rightly up there.

There have been some great managers at both clubs, shame there hasn't been a Joe Harvey or a Bob Stokoe at one of our clubs for a while.

It's the Sunday Stun mate what do you expect only read the car bit and the pub guide which in fairness are pretty good, the sport bit is about as biased as you can get. It is a barcode paper so they aren't going to big up anyone other than a barcode.

You had to mention him didn't you? I'm just getting over the nightmares after his time in charge.

You'd think WIlko would have got an almighty amount of votes from Tyneside at least.

    The twat.

Bryan Robson top 10 in the North East Managers - **** are we that bad! The Sun has limited it's poll to the post war era as Sunderland would have won everything otherwise.

Yes I did notice in every one of these except one it was someone from Newcastle who was put in first place.

To be fair Charlie Harley won the defenders one. I was reading the description on Monty who finished second behind Given in the keepers list. They describe his double save as preventing Leeds from going one goal up. That's all you need to know about the paper.

I guess I have no real issue with Harvey winning the managers one but I have huge issue with the keeper decision.

Maybe Monty and Given can show each other their medals form their time at the 2 NE clubs?

Well, Monty can anyway. 17 years, 627 appearances and an FA

Cup Winners Medal. Oh, yes he has a European Cup medal for good measure from 1980 when he was at Forest as well.

What has Given actually EVER won?

There is ONLY one top NE keeper and he ain't Irish.

It's from the Sunday Skunk, so you can understand the bias.

Chris turner was 10th best goalkeeper in the poll !, he was the best goalkeeper in the north east by a mile since Monty, i seen him play, he went to Man u in 1985 and no surprise there. And it is strange how virtually all Newcastle players etc came out top !. Where was Len shackleton or Dave watson?. And Bent is a better striker than Shearer and you cannot do a poll untill these players have retired to be honest.

Not sure I could say Bent was better than Shearer mate.

Bent a better striker but all round game, Shearer blew spots off him. Its not nice to admit but Shearer was the real deal, just played for a set of twats thats all. Lol

I think everyone would be far more agreeable on the top 25 worst players, including the smaller clubs like Gateshead, Blyth, Darlo, Pool etc.
