Even though I am not really interested in RL, but if anything sway towards Hull FC, wish Rovers best of luck and hope they bring the cup back to Hull.
Good luck to them I always want a Hull team to beat a Leeds team even if I don't care about the sport
I'm not entering a pissing contest, this thread was intended to wish Rovers luck on their big day and should stay like that. However mocking our RL teams for their perceived lack of success seems a little hypocritical when our football team has little luck in that department either.
I don't want to get into a debate over it and I agree with a lot of what your saying, in hindsight I probably shouldn't have posted that as it was always going to open a can of worms. As you say, let's hope they can bring the cup back to Hull and enjoy some success, however trivial the competition may be to a non rugby league fan.
What's not to like about it. It's a Hull team. Should be proud of 'em, whatever your persuasion. Deep down I suspect many Hull FC fans are rooting for them. Any glory for Hull is welcome in my mind. I'll be watching, and listening to City. Roger Millward was a hero.
My sister and brother in law are FC passholders and they will be there cheering them along. My mum was Rovers and took me to my first ever rugby match at Craven Park. Dad was FC . I have seen Rovers win and lose at Wembley and FC lose all 5 I have seen there. I loved the Challenge Cup day at Wembley when I was in England and went to my first in 1950. Then every year until 1966. As for' Roger the Dodger' I met up with him when he came to Aus to play for the Cronulla club for a few months. I followed Cronulla then living only 10 mins drive from the ground. He was a great player and followed Tommy Bishop another England half back great who came to Cronulla in the early 70's.
You started a pissing contest in your first reply. You knew full well what you were doing with your barbed comment on success and you carried it through to your other comments including the last. People have pointed out why it's ridiculous to try to compare the RL final to a football one, but you keep on trying to do it. I have found your trait is one mainly held by FC fans. Rovers fans tend to enjoy their sport for what it is, with no need to compare. It's a shame you felt the need to drag it into a thread like this and I suspect a fair amount of the negative comments about rl are a consequence of people like you. To all following the game, enjoy.
It's a shame that a good luck KR thread couldn't remain exactly that. It's another good advert for the city and I hope they overturn the odds and bring back the cup.
If that's what you want to believe then go ahead, I have no desire to argue against the numerous inaccuracies in that post. For those interesting in betting the odds on a Rovers win are creeping up, by kick off it might be worth a punt.
If you want to start a 'rugby is ****' thread, then by all means do so, but leave this one for good luck messages for today's game. Ta,
I had a bet on Rovers at 4-1, that Mantolatto might be the key man after I mixed him up with Mantovani
I don't doubtbyou'd rather not argue. There's no inaccuracies, just your desperate attempts to compare a final in a minor sport with a greater achievement in a bigger sport. The fact you feel the need to justify your sport of choice, betrays your self doubt. If you like it, like it for what it is, not what it isn't.
I disagree if someone makes a claim, it's fair game to be discussed, especially if it's dubious. I hope everyone enjoys their day out.
