    Charlton - Hmm a bit economical with the truth here. Don't worry I'll correct it. :biggrin:

    Season 1 - Took over the club in December (26th) with the club rooted to the foot of the table with 9 points. Ended the season in 19th with 34 points. Essentially did a good job but just had too much to do. So not really anywhere near responsible for their relegation from the PL I'm sure you agree <laugh>

    Season 2 - The always difficult relegation season - the club forced to sell Bent , Parker and lost most of their good players. Turned a good profit (about 16.5m). I mean I commend Chris Hughton for taking us back up, but he certainly had it a whole lot easier didn't he? 12th was certainly an underachievement but they wouldn't be the first club or manager to suffer after the turmoil of relegation - none of which was the managers doing.

    Season 3 - Made a terrible start to the season and did a a poor job to the November. No excuses - a bad 4 months.

    What happened thereafter? Well Charlton continued the downward spiral that begun long before Pardew arrived. He failed to arrest the slide and for that he has to take some stick.

    As for player attitudes. I think he did try to correct this b saying they were not buying the right type of players. Unfortunately that wasn't his choice. So the gutless wonders did continue to deliver gutless performances. Palace seem made of sterner stuff with better characters - it certainly shows.

    Its odd, why a man who is nothing but a minor footnote in the history of NUFC, should provoke so much to be written about him, both for and against his relative virtues. There I go now, writing nonsense on him again. Use of his name should be prohibited and any users banned.

    Whichever way it is dressed up in one in one out, Pardew never had a net spend of 40 odd million. Just never happened.

    He made a few gambles come good. The bottom line is we have more of a squad this year than we have done in the last 7 or 8. There is no getting away from that. We may not even be done.

    Right close this down and implement the zero Pardew tolerance rule ACS

    Never got the statement about player discontent from the press. My mate was a press officer there during Pardews reign. Pardew is well known to have had an affair with a players wife whilst there. It was well known within the club
