HAIG caressed Peskie's face before walking towards the door. "Wait here" he said without turning around, "I have a surprise for you." Peskie wondered what it could be as he began to take off his dungarees. Only a few minutes later a shadow appeared in the doorway, announcing the entrance of HAIG. There he stood, resplendent in full uniform. Peskie could see that HAIG had gone to a lot of effort. Not only were his clothes freshly pressed but he had a whistle in his mouth and both a yellow and a red card were visible in his breast pocket.
