Well the fact says for us, city and Spurs, worst impact is has had is 1 dropped place, best impact is 2 improvement. Average it out and you probably find that for those 3 clubs your position increases by 1 place.

You oi can't be using facts then say if you didn't have it you might have done better. There's way too many things that could happen which could or couldn't make you be higher or lower, but the stats say, if you have the squad like those 3 teams do, it doesn't have a massive impact (massive being the key word) like the myth suggests.

So the aim of the competition is to hone your skills in Europe but in doing so you might lose 2 places in the league, which will put you out of Europe for the following season.

    Genius logic right there <laugh>

noting that theres a few internationals in that pile and u21 internationals... well.... lets just say every away game i think we should be sending that team out.... get a draw at worst as instruction and then at home manage it a bit more tighlt with some mixing in of bette rplayers

You've been completely selective in which teams and years you've looked at there. If I could be arsed I'd go back a decade and compile the stats, as I know the overall impact is a negative one.

So you'd have to win it to see the positive impact then?

And if you didn't? Then by your own words you'd have dropped back and out of he he European spots at home.

Not wumming at all, just ripping your ill thought out comments to shreds mate, get over it <ok>

The Sunday games are televised more than the Sat games? Also, if a team above you have dropped points more incentive to win your game. Depends how you look at it.

All that should be irrelevant, just try your best to win every game you play

Also, this travelling business. Okay it may mess with the body clock a tad but they arent exactly on Ryanair are they. They can put their feet up while being pampered

The Sunday games post EL aren't televised, unless already on the Sky schedule that is.

It's a ****ing pain in the arse as a fan as well. I hated it tbh.

thats pretty fine really isn't it?

switerland and france for away trips is not exactly killer. <3 hours flights and i think they should be fun games..

sure one game in russia in the freezing cold aint ideal but you can simply send the stiff and go for 0-0 there

    Ah right okay

Well its tough, basically we werent good enough for top 4 last yr and this is the next best thing

We need some coefficient points so if we do get back in CL we can avoid the 'harder' teams. Spuds now above us thats how far we've dropped!

    I couldn't agree more.

These days whether UEFA and others like it not the premiership lords it over the CL in terms of prize money, TV revenues and other stuff. But if you want to be seen to be a big team you HAVE to be in it and do well. Just qualifying by being 2nd or 4th should not be an end in itself. Because now the money is not that great an incentive.

The point should be to do well in it. And that will increase the image and attraction to the top players. The fact that we did so badly and were so inept last year did a lot of damage.

The CL last year confirmed to me that Rodgers was simply not good enough to be our manager. Can anyone honestly say to me that any premiership manager would have done worse than him? in the premiership too, given the resources at his disposal?

Let's face the truth. We spend like a top 4 club but play like a mid table team. It has been like this for the last 2 decades and Rodgers is and will never be the answer. Unless he manages to deal successfully with both domestic and European matches. Treating Europe as some inconvenience will backfire.
