Last time the scum came to the Lane at this stage of the cup, our reserves/kids got stuffed. I hope Poch puts out his strongest available side and we get revenge for that night.
Went to extra time then we shipped two pens... They lost to Birmingham in the final though. Annoying draw as the League Cup is a distraction but I don't wanna get knocked out 1st round by them again.
I like it. We either draw first blood in the NLD or are out of a cup early, when it seemed we had one too many cups last year.
Bring it on I say. Will give the new signings a sense of just how big this game is and hopefully get them prepared for when we eventually face them in the League in November.
I'll be honest, I was hoping for a game where we could give some of the youngsters a chance - because you know if we line up against Arsenal with Pritchard, Carroll, Wimmer and N'Jie starting there's going to be a load of moaning before a ball is kicked.
Both our game and the Midlands derby that was drawn (Villa v Brum) will be shown on Sky. They're both 7.45pm kick-offs and take place on the 22nd and 23rd of September, with the Brummy game first, then us on the Wednesday.
Mrs remember and the kids got a cat over the summer...and as Roo's signature quotes me as saying..."losing to Arsenal makes me wanna buy a cat to kick"...so at least the neighbours cat will be safe!

Surely it's not fun when it's first team v first team? The Arsenal lads seem to get more from a game between kids and reserves. Anyway, G4E will be here to tell us we care too much for the League Cup any minute.
On the contrary. We've experienced plenty of joy in our matches when it's been first team vs first team.
