I have a simple solution, invite the entire population of all the African nations to live in the UK. I`m sure not all will take the offer but the ones that do are guaranteed free health care a roof over their head and plently of pocket money to spend as they wish. Happy Days

We give the same amount of aid to India, as India do to other countries. Giving money away seems rather pointless now doesn't it? I think it's been established over the years that "aid money" just doesn't work. The dictators or extremely corrupt governments spend it on whatever they like, and because there's no oil in their country - we won't interfere. If we really wanted to do something about it, and not just look like we're doing something about it - then we'd spend the money on experts, tools, seeds and basic foods and send them over so that people can start feeding themselves. Give a man a fish, he eats for a day; Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime. (Note: This only works if said man lives near a body of water, which isn't also occupied by huge major fishing corporations or sewer plants)
Aid money 'doesn't work'? Tell that to the millions of people that have been able to eat thanks to it. They only give food out in extreme situations, there's a lot of work that goes into small farming initiatives/setting up businesses/water wells/electricity. That Aid money also goes towards paying the farmers for the food bought. Africa has the capacity to feed itself 5 times over, but there a a few things that get in the way: The ****ed up borders we (the West) drew before leaving, creating war zones that are gradually being sorted out. The rush for minerals and oil to fuel our economies, the money involved created war lords/conflicts that are often supported if we still get our stuff. The cheap food we need in our supermarkets, there are contracts out with large farms (often owned by white people) to ship food over here, loads of food is exported from there as it's cheaper for us. If you really think the entire continent is ****ed, you have absolutely no ****ing clue. There are loads of thriving towns/economies. But our "Aid money" isn't working right

The only foodstuffs to come out of Africa are cocoa and bananas. Don't see many sprawling feilds of corn,barley,wheat,rice or any other basic foods that is needed to sustain a population that large.
