That's true, but its only a matter of time if we carry on playing like this before we get a good arse kicking.

Absolutely. I think some need to manage their expectations from reality, not from wannabe pundits.

I used to cringe reading some other clubs boards at the hysteria, where they flitted from world beaters to sack the lot. We seem to have ended up just like them.

**** all that, leave it to the Prem era types, let's get back to making attending football fun in its own right, and not just wait to be entertained by the players.

Flitted from world beaters Dutch? When was the last time we played like world beaters? As far as managing expectations are concerned I think all that most want to see is for us to play with an element of attacking fluidity. Anything above that would be a bonus. Not too much to ask for is it?

When we played with some attacking fluidity and lost, people were still whining. All I'm asking for is to get back to a more balanced approach. The manic views seem to have grown over the past decade.

Well if attacking fluidity doesn't appear soon I'd expect the views to grow more manic Dutch. People pay a lot of money to watch City, and, like it or not, they want to be entertained, dour football is anything but entertaining. Hopefully the returning Diame will sort the midfield out if he stays.

Dutch didnt say we were world beaters, he was talking about other clubs fans who did it, and we are seeing something similar.

Like the arseholes who don't go to games because they're sulking about a nasty owner (PMT), yet post disparaging comments about our players (Hernandez) because one of their mates said something.

We could do without those types, and like Dutch says, get back to actual fans who like actual football and who support the club not go along because it's somewhere to sit and whine for 90 mins like Castro said in another post.

Its the Talksport types. My fave annoyance is "he's tactically naive" from some no nowt.

Where did this expectation come from we should be doing better. Every club should.
At the end of the day one win against Burnley and we would have stayed in the PL. But that wouldnt have been good enough for some. It woulda been new manager to take us to the next level...

Oh I expect it. It's a sign of the decline of the 'football' fan, and society in general.

It used to be an opportunity to shout, bawl, let off steam and have a laugh, now it's an excuse to demand performances in the same way people do for films, and opine on how 'their' method would certainly improve it.

I agree. Also some on here mentally have their FIFA Pro licence but none of us would last five minutes coaching City. We'd be laughed off the training ground.

It's all changed Dutch, and money has changed it, I remember when Rodney Marsh announced, as a pundit on Sky, that he expected to see a player earning £100,000 per week in the not too distant future, and that they fully deserved it. Look at where we are now, the likes of Rooney on circa £250k per week, and still wanting to scream abuse down a camera at supporters. The knock on effect is that supporters pay much more to get to see a game, and the more they pay the more they expect to see quality. I know that it doesn't work like that but that's the expectation.

In our little neck of the woods we have, for example, Huddlestone, who's paid x amount of thousands of £'s a week to look like he couldn't give a **** about attacking fluidity. That's just one example.

Big money comes with big expectations.

Just another point. Have the Ulltras moved into N5? Seemed a lot in there next to the away fans. Are the Ulltras still going?

For most of the second half of the first half I was bored. There was no atmosphere to make up for the poor football. The second half was better only because I started watching Rochdale, how they built up their attacks, how their central midfield got through our midfield before hitting our central defenders. How they snatched at the couple of opportunities they had. I left hoping they do well this season. As for us I saw different players play the same style of football. After 20 minutes even Diame started passing it sideways. We had a few bursts from Elmo but Rochdale eventually neutralised him.

The atmosphere improved a little but not a lot. The ulltras must have been in because we had the Jeremy Kyle chant.

My only expectation is this is the Hull City way, if we go 1-0 up we'll play the rest of the match to keep the opposition out. I expect us to win more games then we lose and we may even get into the top 6. Fulham and Huddersfield were not actually bursting with quality.

Finally we had the KC smell. Urine in the North East corner and what smelt like horse manure further West.

That, right there, is depressing Obi. We should at least have the expectation for our manager to appreciate when plan A isn't working, and have the ability to be able to change it around for plan B, he's got enough experience and has spent enough money.

i thought it smelt faintly farmyard where we were in East.

As for the clapping instead of silence, was it actually announced as 'a minutes silence'? I thought it was a vague 'show our respect' thing.

Our manager is a twat, our owners are twats, we're getting ripped off for ****e.

As LBIA says we're paying a ****ing lot of money for something that's ****e.

If you spent £10k a month renting a Ferrari but they secretly stuck a limiter on it at 60mph and wouldn't let it Rev past 2000rpm, would you be happy that you've got value for money? It does its job after all and gets you from A to B.
