It makes the drive back to West Yorkshire seem twice as long, cant remember a home game as dire as that for a long time.

Football's an entertainment, so if people pay money and they are bored stiff then obviously they won't like it. And these players are paid plenty and some of them are just leeching off us. Not everyone is an absolute football fanatic and it's very unrealistic to expect that.

I enjoyed my Nandos and two pints in Clarendon before going home, counter-traffic to the fans heading to the ground.

Looking forward to my Preston freebie (bar charitable donation).

It will be nice to be back, no matter the result or performance, to support the team, and the team only.

No purchases shall be made. No protests to absent owners. Just encouragement to the lads.

    Then my exile resumes.

Quite a few deep breath intakes from Mo, especially when he spoke the word Championship. I hope we can hang on to him.

Robertson is dreadful at defending. Has no positional sense whatsoever and relies on his pace to get him out of trouble. Obudajo looks to be similar. I am a little worried about Robertson as he looks to be getting worse not better! I hope its just a blip and he gets back to the promise he showed early on last season.

As a team we didn't press them on the ball. Individuals were doing it constantly and so it was easy to pass around. Luer, Hernandez, Meyler and Clucas especially all put a hell of a shift in last night but never pressed the ball together. It was the same when we had the ball, not much movement off the ball meant the midfielders only option most of the time was to pass backwards or sideways.

Maguire looked very dodgy last night as well. Definite penalty at the end for handball, I don't know how the referee and linesman missed it? Alex Bruce was decent though, I wouldn't be worried if he had to stand in for Dawson or Davies for a game or two but it wouldn't be ideal.

The main positives to take out of last night for me was Diame being back, Luer looked good early on and had a decent touch with his back to goal, and Hernandez work rate. Hopefully he'll get a few goals and get his confidence up, should have scored a couple last night.

Posted yesterday on the transfer thread that if he came through last night( and his performance was one of the highlight in a dire game) is included on Saturday and preforms well, then I can see one of the bottom half PL teams coming in with a bid. saying that I hope we can hang on to him till January .

If he's one of the players with a 'buy-out' clause the figure might be too high for a PL club to take a risk.

It would be interesting to know how the buy-out clauses are valued in the first place.

They wanted to leave not us wanting them out.

They had the chance to sign a contract and they refused to do it.

Agree with his buy out clause(if he has one) might put teams off, but as we well know, common sense tends to go out the window as the closing of the transfer window approaches.

There was an interesting comment somewhere on here along the lines of Robertson being 'no good' in a back four, looks like left-back is turning into a real problem position. Usually our defence is a strong point so worrying at the moment that we have a dodgy keeper, and a left-back who maybe is still learning the game. Bruce Jr was a big bonus point last night as it looks like he can slot straight in and do a job without games, whereas Maguire looked shaky in possession, at one point Bruce Snr. was going spare when he made a ridiculous hoof it for no reason

Quinn wanted to leave because players who performed badly were picked ahead of him last season. Rosenior could have been offered a contract at the end of the season.

The expectation is to win the game, which we did. What's worrying is how badly we went about it. Had that been any club from the Championship we'd have lost, easily. We shouldn't be second best to any team when we're at home, especially not to a team that's got nowhere near as much talent as ours does and plays in the league below.

Qpr knocked out by Carlisle a Div 2 side.
Burnely knocked out in the previous round by Port Vale.

Both below us in the league.

Relegation hangover. We've all go it, fans, moaners, players.

We can support the team and manager or moan like **** about every little thing.

Overall a poor game but with the correct result for Hull City. Great to see the lad Greg Luer get a very good game winner and a shame that UnAbel missed 2 sitters. However it is the result that counts the most and we got it. We now move onto round 3 and an interesting home game with Swansea City.

Listening to RH after the game you would have thought we had lost. The nonsense that came from many so called fans (more like plastics and wums) was shocking. You just had to look and games/results elsewhere to see that lower league clubs don't just simply lay down and die.

Qpr stank the place out according to manager Chris Ramsey. But well done Carlisle Utd.

WBA were very lucky. Well done James Chester for the winning spot kick.

As for Sunderland, despite the win they look like the modern day Titanic.!!!!

In recent seasons Rochdale have knocked out Leeds, Forest & QPR from cup competitions. We were a scalp to them so they were always going to step it up.

We played a different side from the normal starting XI and won. We could've made it by a bigger margin & more comfortable, but our strikers are poor in front of goal.

We then went slightly defensively like any side does when you aren't scoring.

We've got more attack minded players to come back into the side when they're fit.

I agree with the principle of what you are saying, I've just learnt over the years never to expect great football where Hull City is concerned. These kind of arguments used to go on even going back to the original 606 site back in the day, better maybe to have lower expectations sometimes and maybe watch player efforts instead of concentrating on team performances, I think I have seen about 10 what I would class great performances from us in 30 years of going, it rarely happens.

When all is said and done it has to be the result that counts most. Playing well and winning is a bonus.
