Even £1m looks low for this lad.
didn't an unproven chambers go for well over £10m recently?
Appreciate he is French but surely Mike will want to see how he develops? He's also cheap?
If we have to sell for £1m I hope we put a sell on clause in for 33%+ so that when he comes good we can make some proper money.

AS Monaco have made a £500,000 offer for Newcastle United midfielder Olivier Kemen, according to L’Equipe.
The French side are the latest big-name club linked with a move for the Magpies midfielder who has been linked with a number of top sides all summer.
The 19-year-old was a stand out performer at the U19 European Championships and gathered a lot of attention from Premier League sides Liverpool and Tottenham.
Yesterday Steve McClaren didn’t include Kemen in his squad as Newcastle beat Northampton Town 4-1 at home, opting to play Yoan Gouffran in the middle of midfield instead of giving the youngster a shot.
The midfielder arrived on Tyneside from Metz two years ago and he has failed to break into the first-team picture to date, yet L’Equipe claimed last month that he had entered into negotiations with Italian giants Milan.
Yet it is the general reported interest in Kemen that is perhaps more interesting considering the youngster’s lack of first-team football. In fact, Kemen asked John Carver for a loan move in January but was denied and is becoming frustrated with life on Tyneside.
Kemen – who has performed well in 26 appearances for the Magpies’ Under-21 side, scoring three times – also went to Greece to captain France in the UEFA Under-19 Championship, where he impressed.
Newcastle are reported to want €1 million for the player.

Send the lad out on loan. If he is that highly thought of by Europe's big clubs then getting him into a decent team on loan should not be difficult for the rest of this season. Bring him back next summer and see how he does.

Seems simple to me. No point cashing in on him now.

I think I read there's a lot of question marks over his behaviour, just not professional enough. If I recall, there was another lad who exhibited similar traits. Name of Paul Pogba, not sure what happened to him.......

Loan him out to get the experience and game time he needs. Pointless in cashing in on him when we don't need the money.
But cannot let him stagnate and become frustrated either. If he is the talent he is rumoured to be then clubs should be queuing up to take him on loan.

I'd definitely be against this given what I have seen, heard, the clubs being linked and of course Tiotes regression.

    Backward step.

Yep, loan to a decent side though. No good sending him out to St Mirren.

Indeed. He needs to be going to a top division side. Send him to the dutch or belgian leagues, they will develop his game.

Really he should be playing at least some part in games like last night by now if we are thinking that he is future 1st team. I'd rather not sell him but he has got to get some game time either here or out on loan if we are to keep him.

Seems unlikely he has regressed that much since the U18 games we watched a year or so ago? Plus if he was ****e, the likes of Liverpool, Monaco, Spurs, AC Milan would unlikely to be in the hunt.

And of course this whole story could be utter bullshit and made up.

I'll be honest I have never seen the lad play but it may well be a load of bull. My only concern is the amount of fapping done by others on here, other forums and almost everyone over Vuckic when all I saw was a plank of wood!

Never saw the fascination with the lad. Lazy lazy lad. At his age having been brought up in modern football and played so much formative football in England, I find that incredible. He had a nice left peg, but so did my Sunday league left back! We need to give Kemen a chance but it could be bull, there could be other factors people are not aware of. Certainly his pedigree is first class, and France junior sides rate him highly.

I think my desire to see him involved is as much to do with whether Anita/Colback are really that good, and relying on Tiote. Literally as with Colo, he is so overrated. Don't get me wrong he had one season where he was unbelieveable. I rated him massively after that - never have I seen a player fall so far from that level. My problem is we keep waiting for these types to rediscover form. I can see why top sides move them on. Or the likes of Ajax who cash in when the going is good and just put faith in the next lad.

I agree especially as I don't rate Colback and Tiote has regressed so much as a player ove rthe last 18 months it's almost unbelievable! As for Anita, think he is a canny player and hoping this system will suit him though stillhave worries over his physique in his position.

I did laugh when Anita went for that header at Old Trafford <laugh>

He is a tidy player and he gives it everything, he is just too easily beasted for me. I like a Kouyate or Wanyama type in there if you play like we do. Rangy aggressive types. Just lets others play. Can't believe Arsenal haven't attempted to sign one of those two this summer. It would transform their team and make the centre backs look so much better. Wenger seems to be deliberately leaving out pieces of the jigsaw in some petty "I won't conform" rant <laugh>
