Think @Gustavo's Gonads is your man there fella. But if nads wanted to hire me as an assistant i'd find him any info or sat, failing that i'd compile it. Just think, I'd have access to OptaPro. It would be like a wet dream. <laugh>

It is reported that the 29-year-old has been transfer listed by Rennes as they wish to get his high wages off their books, and was close to signing for Greek sign PAOK earlier this summer.

That worries me. No one better than the greeks went in for him? High wages?

I don't imagine anybody better than Sunderland went in for M'Vila either mate, you just gotta take a punt now and again. It's panic buy stage in the window now.

    Almost Carlton Cole O'Clock <laugh>

Difference is M'Villa isn't 29 with no resale value and a patchy track record from what I can see.

M'Villa is still young enough to do it.

This one just seems so average.

He's only gonna cost you peanuts, doubt he'll be on a high wage, I'd imagine 15k Euro tops.

A few goals could make all the difference.

If you can get back in the black with a season of low spending, it could mean that you can actually target the next level signings next summer without fear of financial meltdown. Your owner is probably just sick of paying for a pack of ****s who let him down week after week, with his own cash.

We'd end up windmilling ****ers with no clue mate, I'd be way too passionate to work within the club cos I'd be watching every **** to make sure they were pulling their weight.

I thought about applying for a marketing job a while back, but I wouldn't be rational, other than if they wanna give me a scouting job with a sizeable travel budget!

That's what I was thinking. All fantasy I know.

Would you not fancy going into scouting? You could start prepping for such a career move while you bag your pennies. Or have you been lavish and set yourself back? <laugh>

I'm decent financially mate, but I am a spender, so they'd need to match what I earn now. But I'd do it, course I would, not realistic that the club would hire a fan as a scout in reality, despite the fact we clearly have a better eye than the ****ers at the club.

I wasn't think exclusively Sunderland. Not having a pro background you'd probably have to start a low level but if Villas-Boas can get the Chelsea Job without kick a football for a living there must be avenues. But could you imaging watching football for a living? It's a dream job for most men, but you've got an eye for a player.

I'd ****ing love it mate, I wonder if we dug up old threads from here and the old 606 how many players we've tipped have indeed done very well.

More than SAFC's scouting team I guarantee.

Not just mine mate, stacks of lads on here. You don't need football qualifications to spot a footballer. You just need to like football.

Start by free lancing for clubs, a local guy signed up a big lanky keeper from around here that went on to be Wolves number 1, he's probably still playing, I just can't for the life of me think who it is.

    Sunderland sign Ola Toivonen
    Published: 28 August, 2015
    by Oscar Chamberlain

Sweden international moves to Wearside on loan.

Sunderland AFC have completed the signing of Sweden international Ola Toivonen.

The attacking midfielder joins the Black Cats on a season-long loan from French Ligue 1 side Rennes.

The 29-year-old began his career in his hometown with Degerfos IF before spells in Gothenburg and Malmo. A move to Dutch giants PSV followed where he won the KNVB Cup and the Dutch Super Cup.

Toivonen joined French side Rennes in January 2014 scoring 14 goals in 46 league appearances, and he also has a wealth of experience at international level having won over 40 caps for Sweden.

Speaking about the player, head coach Dick Advocaat said: “I worked with Ola at PSV so I know him well. He is a national team player with a lot of experience, an attacking midfielder who can score goals and is good in the air - he will bring something different to the team.”

Toivonen could make his debut this weekend as the Black Cats travel to the Midlands to take on Aston Villa in the Barclays Premier League.
