Sadly I can't realistically think of a set of circumstances which would persuade the US to support gun control in any significant way.

Two employees of a local CBS affiliate were shot and killed live on air near Roanoke Virginia this morning. They were Adam Ward, 27, a camerman, and Alison Parker, 24, a reporter. A third victim, who was being interviewed at the time of the shooting, was shot in the back and is in hospital. Police have identified the suspect, who was reportedly a disgruntled employee at the station. Local media have reported that a car chase is in progress, and Virginia's governor said police are closing in on the suspect. It appears that the suspect fired approximately 8 shots from a semi-automatic pistol. The FBI have joined the investigation.
Easy answer. Change the laws to no guns. A two week amnesty. Anyone caught with a gun gets electrocuted. That will soon get the population down and clean the world of the scumbags. Bags I be first to turn the electric on.
It's every Americans right to own a gun and shoot journalists. A noisy minority shouldn't be able to ruin things for the well behaved majority.
Thanks to the miracle of the internet, I already know that this bloke is a light skinned black male, 6'3" and he's currently driving a silver 2009 Ford Mustang down I-64 in Virginia, with a police helicopter in pursuit. He'll be shot in the next few minutes, they all get shot, it's how they roll.

If i had my way, I would round up all the work dodgers and benefits cheats and simply dispose of them. Create an environment with decent law abiding citizens. Sadly, I know I am living in cloud cuckoo land.
