Without wishing to tempt fate, when is the draw for the CL group stages? Are we now in pot 2 for seeds, having missed one whole season in the CL and letting down the nation as a result, or are we still in pot 1?
So here we go then - potentially the biggest match of the season so far in terms of re-establishing ourselves at the top table of European football and all around us our competitors are throwing money at transfers to strengthen and consolidate to make sure they have strength in depth for the long season ahead. What are we doing...............playing Fellaini as a striker.WTF
If we get through we are in Pot 2 along with City and Arsenal. Chelsea are in Pot 1 as they won the league and can't be in the same pot as the teams that won the other major European leagues. They also can't be in the same group as another English team so their Pot 2 opponents are narrowed down to 5 possibles. Personally I've never understood why 2 or even 3 or even 4 teams from the same country can't be in the same group. They're allowed to face each other later on in the competition! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-teams-face-and-what-TV-channel-is-it-on.html
Rumour has it Herrera will get a start so every cloud and all that. Having said that, I'd rather Fellaini at 10 than Januzaj.
Pot 1 Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Benfica, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Zenit St. Petersburg, PSV Eindhoven. Pot 2 Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Arsenal, Porto, Valencia, Manchester City (plus two from Manchester United, Bayer Leverkusen, Shakhtar Donetsk, Sevilla). Pot 3 Lyon, Dynamo Kiev, Olympiakos, Galatasaray, Roma (plus two from Shakhtar Donetsk, Sevilla, Sporting Lisbon, CSKA Moscow, Lazio, Bruges, Apoel, BATE). Pot 4 Borussia Moenchengladbach, Wolfsburg, Dinamo Zagreb, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Gent, Malmo (plus two from Apoel, BATE, Partizan, Astana). Wouldn't fancy tricky German sides in pot four if we've already got someone like Barca in pot 1. I'd like something along the lines of Bayern/Barca, Roma and Malmo. Big games and a battle with Roma for second, assuming (which we should) Bayern or Barca would win the group.
Interesting. Bet most expected Fellaini to start. Noticed he was wearing strapping on both leg's the other day. Herrera starts. Needs to play well as he's got some serious competition in midfield these days. Hopefully he shows van Gaal he has to play.
So turns out its not free on sky. Also only in SD on free view. Basically BT are showing everyone just how **** they are. Michael Owens probably commentating too.
Its free on fox sports thankfully. In HD too. Michael Owen isn't commentating either. Winning situation.
