A new insight by Insider Media makes interesting reading. We're one of the highest which isnt a surprise: http://www.insidermedia.com/insider...s_article&utm_campaign=northwest_news_tracker And people still have a go at Duffen and Bartlett for their "financial mismanagement" which saw debts half as bad as our kindly owners currently accrued.....
And people wonder why we didn't go out and spend millions on a player where we already have capable but high earning and exoensive players in the same position.
QPR actually top the list, despite the owners writing off £60m in loans, their recent accounts still show a total debt of £205m.
And to think if we had been called Hull Tigers that debt would nowhere near as much!!! I dont think so.
How many of those club owners are charging interest on their loans? Don't think the Venky's at Blackburn do.
I don't, if you want to get to the highest level you have to speculate to an extent. That never happened previously in the club's history and that helped make sure we never got to the top tier. Bigger problems have been things such as us buying players who have medical/health/attitude problems once we got promoted. That kind of speculation has hurt us.
Didn't really read this properly til I saw the quote down the page. It's a bit misleading saying that seeing as the vast majority of our current debt is that which Duffen and Bartlett ran up. The difference being, it's been switched over to Allam and his family at a lower interest rather than paying through the roof owing an investment firm. The debt the Allams have run up themselves is probably about half of what the messiah and Bartlett did. And again to themselves at a low interest rate rather than a bank at a silly amount.
