luer looks promising and took his goal very well, he needs to be a bit stronger and improve his heading, mo looked decent, its great to see him back hes the type of midfielder we have been missing. myler was all over the pitch and got mom. We need a quicker tempo when on the ball. The next week is going to be very interusting who comes in who go's
Almost a total success. An hour for Diame is about what I thought, all we have to do is hang on to him and that will be hard. Great for Luer, even better for us. Did anyone expect us to play well against Rochdale? In some ways the window not closing might be a good thing. How many games is that now for Taylor?
We played like we usually do when we go one nil up. Backwards, sidewards, backwards, sidewards, runs down the wing, crosses into the box. Rochdale didn't look like they would score so we let them have the ball for long periods. They created a couple of clear cut chances that they fluffed. Nothing to do with taking the cup seriously, just our normal game plan.
He took his goal very well but faded quite badly, I was surprised Bruce took off Hernandez who was still full of running even if some of his finishing was bad
He didn't look fit at all to me but I was just as disappointed with Robertson to be honest, I think he is average defensively
It hinges on Hernandez taking his chances. He scores them it's game over. But he didn't and we become boring & nervy. It's not just us who uses those tactics. My comment above wasn't an excuse, by the way. I always want City to play better & to improve.
Before the match there was a bit of an Ashbee tribute on the screens, he is exactly the sort of player we are lacking in midfield, a leader who can help the kids, the likes of Luer were not getting help on the pitch for me
Exactly, all the negativity was caused because basically he couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo tonight and he's supposed to be a ten million pound player, he scores we win easily
Fair play to Rochdale they passed it around well. Disappointed with Taylor, Robertson & Maguire. Luer looks useful, and good to see Diame back.
I don't think we were particularly nervy. For all their nice passing they didn't really trouble us too much. We'd won the game after 10 minutes and played our normal game thereafter, apart from the odd bit of excitement. For us to improve and play better we need a different manager. Whilst we continue winning more games then we lose and are in touch with promotion Bruce will stay.
Robertson, Elmo and the new lad (a replacement for Rosenior, apparently ) Odubajo are all very average defensively, but better going forward, so it's a bit of a puzzler isn't it when he plays 442 or 443?
Rubbish. We just need to recapture what we showed we are capable of like we played in the first half against Fulham. If we win more than we lose and stay in touch with promotion then Bruce ought to stay - after all, he'll be doing his job well! I think you need to get over your anti-Allam negativity Obadiah - it's now affecting your judgement.
We played like we did against Fulham tonight. Just like Fulham we let Rochdale back into the match. They gained confidence just like Fulham. Unlike Fulham they didn't have a Cairney who could put the ball in the back of the net so we didn't need a second. We won the game after 10 minutes and played at quarter speed for most of the match thereafter. It wasn't pretty to watch unless you were a Rochdale fan but we got the result. If we want to see us dominate teams and score lots of goals we need a new manager. If we just want to score and shut up shop then Steve Bruce is the man for us. Nothing to do with how I feel about Allam.
If you honestly like the way the team has regressed over the last three years then no wonder you like Bruce.
