The fact that pubs are closing at an alarming rate. The fact that those that manage to stay open have gutted out the traditional look and replaced it with the modern, shiny wooden floored, part time restaurant look. When I think of all the pubs around me closing I think of its history, all of the characters who must have walked through its doors, the regulars, for nigh on 200-300 years! They must be doing somersaults in their graves. The days of the pub being the hub of the community has gone, and it saddens me. In an ideal world supermarkets should be forced to drastically increase their prices whilst pubs should be able to cut theirs. Try and force everybody to get out and mingle instead of barracading themselves in the house and getting hammered!
Very well said Quentin couldn't agree more. That is one of the reasons I joined CAMRA - they have groups trying to save pubs. The Bristol branch has saved a number of pubs from closure that have gone on to thrive. Still some good pubs in Sunderland was up there recently for my sister's funeral tried ISIS, the museum vaults and the dun cow all great pubs.
People parking in the reserved for disabled parking spaces simply because its closest to the door. Literally just witnessed it and when I pulled our blue badge out they soon shifted. Dicks.
