I think the effect of excellent FBs is being now seen. I'm not taking away from Lucas at all as he was great but it must have been nice for him to not be one versus three with CB's pulled wide due to absence of FB''s in defence. .I bet even Gerrard would look at this and say I'd look better in this team that last year!

Yep, the unit is definitely stronger.

Having Johnson and gerrard in that set up was suicidal.

Sky Sports have done an article about us being "lucky" with the two big decisions that have gone in our favour since the season began.

    http://www.skysports.com/football/n...offside-calls-they-could-be-10th-if-not-given

They even did an alternative prem table showing us in 10th if the two decisions had gone against us.<laugh>

ffs I've been going the game for a long time and seen us lose cup finals and many league games due to bad ref/linesmen decisions and not a dickybird said about it at the time.

For the record man yoo would be 7th without the "luck" they had on the opening day.<whistle>

Fair enough. I don't want to get into a protracted argument over this and really can't be bothered to read back to see what I picked up on in the first place.
Perhaps I should just say that whenever I see phrases like "reality check" or something like that it makes me bristle a bit - whether it's in response to negativity or positivity. We all have our opinions, and nobody's is more authoritative than others, and those phrases seem dismissive of any differing opinion.
    In my opinion. :)

  6. I don't agree. Can may become a better player but right now, Hendo is the better option IMO.

Having the trio of Hendo, Can and Milner for two B2B roles is great options for the squad though.

Positivity is aspiring to be the best- delusion is thinking we are.

Why? Because Henderson runs around more?

Henderson is a jack of all trades - nothing wrong with that. Liverpool is his pinnacle.

Can has already played at Bayern and by accounts, they wanted to keep him. Can will be gone in a few years.

they sold him with a buy back... they didn't trigger it when we met his release...

Can has a lot to learn.

BOth should play as LFC don't have better.

Agree - he's still raw but personally, he has far more potential and his impact on games is more noticeable.

Also, Gomez also p*sses all over Flannagan.
