£3 mill for Ipswich Midfielder Cole Skuse? Seems to be doing the rounds on Twitter - not sure if would add anything at all to the squad.
I can't say I know anything about him. I know SQF has stated he wants another defensive midfielder in the squad as he only has Capoue, Behram and Watson, and I suspect we will be limited to home grown now as the 17 non-home grown player limit must be close to being finalised.

I found the Yorkshire Post and the fans are in two groups. One who are reasonable and can understand Fernando looking at options and the others who still believe Leeds United are a top team, a big club and strangely think they are in the Premiership, deluded I think the word. Also I worry with the number of not British players that Watford have. The linking of even more players from outside the UK who would never be home grown is frightening me, even to one Belgian/Turkish of 19 years. We need English players. Will Nathan Ake count as homegrown because he is from Hollandand perhaps Cole Skuse from Ipswich Town who is mentioned.
As I understand it, Homegrown means that a player is registered with a team(s) from England or Wales for three years before reaching the age of 22. In any case it doesn't matter where players come from if they are under 21 because they are not included in the quota of 17 required on Sept 1.
"Clubs must include eight home-grown players out of a squad of 25. A home-grown player will be defined as one who, irrespective of his nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to the Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday (or the end of the Season during which he turns 21). Clubs will be able to supplement their squads with unlimited additional players under the age of 21 on 1st January in the year in which the season commences. Changes to the squad list of 25 may be made during the period of a transfer window. Chief executive Richard Scudamore confirmed: "As of next season clubs will be required to have a squad named of up to 25 players, of which no more than 17 can be over the age of 21 and not home grown. The definition of home grown is trained for three years under the age of 21 by somebody in the English and Welsh professional system”."
At present we have the following 'non home grown'. Gomes, Nyom, Britos, Angella, Prodl, Ekstrand, Jurado, Behrami, Vydra, Forestieri, Paredes, Pudil, Layun, Berghuis, Abdi, Ighalo, Holebas, Belkhalem, Capoue, Diamante, Arlauskis. That is 21 players, so if no more non home grown signings are made, 4 of these will not make our squad come 1st September. I would assume Belkhalem would be one, and Ekstrand, on the basis we can change the squad at the end of Jan and he will be out until just before then, will be another. That leaves two more that won't make it... I suspect they will come from Pudil, Forestieri, Paredes, Angella and Vydra by the looks of recent reports.
Goldentrue - You have misunderstood the regulation. We only have to keep our foreign contingent to 17 maximum. We can name as few home grown as we like. The squad is up to 25, not a minimum of 25. A number of clubs may only nominate 22 or 23 players and we may be in that number.
No I understand that, and just said the same on another thread. The 'rule' that I posted was cut and paste from the Premier League site, and then I went on to discuss the non-home growns we have that could fit into the 17, I didn't mention the home growns..
I think I'm getting old. Working this out gives me a headache and I miss the days when home grown players were a bit more visible. I enjoy the skills overseas players bring but it always feels as though they may not be with us long. Ah well, I'll be suggesting we bring back dubbin, rattles, cloth caps and Woodbines next!
I'm with you Theo - I was a bit annoyed that none of the players had the decency to travel on the bus from Stanmore with me on Sunday
Fair enough Goldentrue, I was responding to your 1:58 post rather than your 2:09 post - I'm just a slow typer!
No problem. As I said, the first post was just a straight cut and paste of the rule from the Premier League, in their own words.
According to Le Parisien journalist Florian Fieschi, Rennes midfielder Abdoulaye Doucouré is in advanced negotiations to join Premier League side Watford. Rennes at the moment have set a minimum asking price of €12m.
