The scenes of atrocities were against Polish resistance fighters who were let down by the Russians who just sat outside Warsaw until the Germans and Poles knocked each other out. The Poless fought so hard that the German's had to bring in the SS Dirlewanger Brigade that comprised of the dregs of Germany's prison and they normally fought against the partisans. They were wiped out so many times that no record exists of their war record, but no one connected to them would boast about it.

Me and our lass watched this film a couple of years back and we were both speechless at the end. Great thought provoking film that I have not been able to bring myself to watch again.

If another guy tried to get involved in mine and my mrs business like that, it would end in a different way.

    Movies are so unrealistic.

Plenty of films have sat uncomfortably with me afterwards but they're not necessarily true stories or based on real life events. To name a few:
Straw dogs, the accused, Eden lake, dead man's shoes, deliverance. I think these may all have some horrible sex scene in them. Perhaps that's why they disturbed me so.
@farnboromackem from a fellow scifi fan may I suggest charlie brookers black mirror series, particularly the Christmas special.

That was a very sad day when I watched that.
Remember it well, really shook me up badly.
At the time I couldn't get my head round why they didn't take some out before they turned the guns on themselves but you always live in the hope that you will survive.

can imagine it, my father in law was out there as well.
Apparently he done quite a few tours out there but doesn't say much about it.
He was with the royal green jackets.
Not a place I would like to have been living back then.
