I don't think we have. When Agnew left we'd just won 2 games in half a season. The rot had started long before then.

Norwich got seven successive wins after Phelan joined, we appear to struggle to cobble together two consecutive wins, in fact if it wasn't for a fortunate winner from Aluko against Fulham we'd currently be sitting in mid table, which would be a much more accurate reflection of our performances so far this season.

I look at it this way, and as much as I hate to use Leicester as an example, and I expect to get flamed for it, last season they were, under Pearson, playing attractive attacking football but weren't getting the rub of the green. Eventually it all fell into place and they went on the run that eventually relegated us. We, on the other hand, appear to be playing a dour brand of football yet have somehow managed to pick up enough points to be in a respectable position in the table. Guess what happens next?

We don't want just 'fine' though if we're shooting for promotion, we've replaced Rosenior with a better player in Taylor and then on top of that signed an even better one in Odubajo.

Like I said, it's confusing, but in the absence of being able to identify a positive ...

I recall Rosenior being decent in our last promotion year; is Odubajo anymore a RB than Elmo?

Are you sure? I've yet to see any evidence of this to be fair.

I have decided that everyone is right to a certain degree! There is so much flip flopping around with people on here that at some point they're bound to be right!

Odubajo looks like he will be a far superior right back to Rosenoir.
people get too attached to people with catchy songs or relatives from Hull, same way people are pining for Mcshane when we now have Davies back in the starting 11 and are much stronger for it.

Rosenior was a much stronger defensive RB than either Elmo or Odubajo FACT

Agreed. If we'd have kept Rosie, sold Elmo and bought Dave it would've made much more sense.

That's the key word, he's now over 30 and not played regular football for 2 years.

Even if he still is better defensively, he's much slower and has a poor delivery which why Elmo or Odubajo are much better options for our current squad.

Odubajo is a decent prospect, Taylor is, or at least was, better than Rosey.

We've done decent business on the right flank, we're very strong there. It's the left flank and central midfield that are the problem areas. Hopefully Maloney will help to rectify one, depending how fat head decides to play it could be either.

We both know its a major factor when offering new contracts and signing players.

Injuries, pace, recovery time, sell on value and longevity at the club are almost always worse for over 30's.

Now this ^^^^^ is utter nonsense. The signings look good actually.

The squad needed an overhaul after relegation. Rosie could have stayed but rejected a contract offer.
Harper may yet still come back. twt.....

Spot on ^^^^^ this. I was sad to see Rosie go but he was only ever going one way and he said it himself.
Odubajo is very quick and an upgrade on Rosie other than experience which he will get over time.

McShane only had himself to blame sadly.

Sadly Rosenior has only managed nine minutes of league football with Brighton so far, he just seems to have switched one bench for another.
