So Pompey drawn at home to Championship side Reading, to be played week commencing 24 August. Fairly local "derby" match, so should be a good crowd. Another interesting test for Paul Cook's side.
A nice little cup run is always good for morale. How do you fancy our chances in the paint pot? Would be nice to have a day at Wembley and a new item of silverware. At least with the PST running things instead of the last lot of crooks it wouldn't end up down a pawn shop in Paulsgrove
Cook has a reasonably large squad, to keep happy and, as I understand it, they have no regular reserve team football to keep players fit. He has wisely kept an almost constant selection for L2 games todate. Despite this he has promised opportunities for all. A good cup run creating extra fixtures will provide him with some help in keeping his promise.
