No he didn't. He quit their ground and moved to Trieste which was 1,076 km away and refused to refund ST holders. Then he moved them to the Is Arenas which he along with the mayor had built fraudulently (case ongoing) but that ground didn't meet safety regulations so games had to be played behind closed doors. ST holders were again refused refunds, instead Cellino told them to go anyway - whenever they did go, the games got postponed and still no refunds were issued! When Cellino first bough Cagliari they were in a 69,000 capacity stadium - when he sold them, they were playing in an 11,000 stadium (since raised to 16,000)
Lots of hearsay and rubish in that post TC,and the 69,000 ground was from the days when nearly all terracing and Charlton held well over 100,000 what is Charlton now. 20,000 ?
I don't believe any of that as to why he is reluctant to join us .No its quite easy to understand he wants a severance pay out as well
Ridsdale left Leeds £103 million in debt,Cellino left Cagliari in the black. Bit of a worry you working in the city with other peoples money and missing that one.Glad you ain't got any of my cash.
You are right - if a net debt of 27.2M Euros can be classed as being in the black of course And no ground either - sounds familiar !! http://imgur.com/L136Gk3
I bet he sold it for a handsome profit though and this I have no doubt will happen to us but as he realises he has got to get PROMOTION hence he will speculate to accumulate
Mike - If he wants promotion, he needs to stop signing players that are not good enough for Championship rivals. Adeyemi - Cardiff sub. Dallas - Brentford sub. Wood - Surplus to requirements at Leicester and was told he would not be in their 23 man squad this year - loaned out to be an Ipswich sub.
Don't understand Italian but I did find this. 23 January 2010. Cellino has proved himself to be a popular and successful owner at Cagliari, providing the finance for the club’s new training ground and sports complex in Assemini ....
