We have to go out and beat West Ham now, we really need to knuckle down and win the physical battle against them.

Especially given that BOTH of their first choice CB's weren't playing.

Did we even miss Henderson? ... <whistle>

For me, get Sakho and Sturridge into this first team set up and it's almost there.

  6. I'd have to say no but that is more credit to Lucas than a negative towards Hendo.

you talk a good game but you have no clue.

Can will play holding... end of.

You've said yourself and i quote " lucas is easily replaced" yet today " get ahko and sturridge into this set up"

you're all over the place... bigger mess than a guy caught on ashley madison.

you've no idea what the game might have turned out like if we'd had henderson.... perhaps the gross and over exaggerated bashing jimmy here gave all his pet hates would never have been possible if ol hendo had played.... perhaps LFc would have played better second half or actually not had to put rossiter on and look backs to the ball by the end....

no we didn't miss him at all in the whole game.

Rodgers got his tactics right yesterday. credit where it is due but he;d be the first to say he missed henderson out there.

scarily people have moved on form lallana aleady.. ignoring the fact coutinho played very well on left and how we had 11 men on the pitch not 10 (or 9.5 if you count ibe)

Not so sure on that myself, Henderson would have worked better in terms of our ball retention ( massive problem all game). Far too often we lost the ball in the middle third because their was no easy out ball, Henderson is great at being that person due to his energy but also him being there would have helped the other two similarly. Now we have to balance that with what lucas brought defensively but overall I think we were poorer for having hendo missing.

    this <ok>

delighted with result and formation change. hoping that injury has once again lucked rodgers into the best system and he just puts hendo in for lucas and keeps this team together.

If we played this way v half the prem we'd win well.

Benteke was very good again... just needs to bash them now.

Really surprised by us last night - will happily admit we were a lot more solid and attacked much better than I imagined possible.

All the new signings played well - Milner and Benteke especially. Gomez had a good game all considered but was caught out a few times again.

Have to say first half we missed a huge opportunity for all three points. As good as we were last night that shows how far we still have to come.

    This.

At the risk of sounding "negative" and hence upsetting a few people, we did play better than most of us expected. That had more to do (if people are really honest) with Arsenal playing rather badly rather than us playing well. They got beaten at home by West Ham FFS !! and when I saw that they had their regular CBs replaced by Chambers and Gabriel I thought we had to win this.

We are getting the rub of the green at the moment (with these 2 goals against Bournemouth and yesterday with Ramsay's goal). Of course we'll take the results but let's not pretend we are nearly there. I've seen someone write on this thread that we are one short of a title challenging team.

This is not negativity. It is having the feet on the ground and not being carried away.

Yeh. We really need to up our performance levels or West Ham will burst this bubble we're in.

Our first half performance should see us score vs most sides... yet we should have conceded.
