I think Saido obviously prefers the number 9 role but I think his ability allows him to play as a wide forward - and potentially an effective one at that. Going by recent Football Manager terms, he could be deployed as a "Raumdeuter". The Raumdeuter role seems to have been invented by Thomas Muller and it supposedly means space investigator from a wide position or in easier terms, a wide goal poacher. Saido's pace would allow him to find pockets in between defences out wide, allowing him to make the runs around them which hopefully our midfielders will spot and thread him the right passes for him to finish or lay on to Kane. I think Saido knows that joining us means he'll likely have to play in a wider position most of the time, he's not silly and knows the money we'll be spending on him signifies we see him as a first teamer but as we have Kane as the number 9, it'll probably be out wide where he slots in. The fact we can revert to a 4-4-2 though with him and Kane up top is also an interesting prospect (providing he does sign of course!). This is why I really want him over other strikers, don't get me wrong Austin would also be a more than welcomed addition but Saido's versatility and age is a key factor in making him the number one target in my opinion.
Not sure if people want to believe these, but a guy I follow retweeted this tweets onto my time line last night: It's pretty sad if he's made it up as overhearing club secretaries does sound a bit questionable to me but I checked the guy's time line and he doesn't appear to be a typical wannabe ITK dickhead. In other news, Di Marzio is claiming that Inter have agreed a loan deal for Lamela. €6m loan fee with an option to purchase for €14m. Which equates to about £4m and £10m respectively. Does anyone know the details of the deal that brought Lamela here? I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have paid £30m up front and so I'm wondering what sort of instalments or performance related fees may have been in place.
What we paid for Lamela is ancient history. The only thing that matters is whether getting £14m is a good deal. The structure is quite risky for us in that if he sets Serie A alight then we could probably get more in the open market and if he has a bad season then they won't exercise the option.
Once you post 8,500 times boasting about a particular person, Not606 automatically assumes you as their Son.
Who was it who wondered if Pulis ever takes off that baseball cap? I get the 4-4-2 point. Berahino and Kane as a partnership looks very promising. But who would provide width in midfield, I wonder? I hope there’s a way we can play our games this year with the right side of the field blocked off. After being glaringly short of real right sided players last year, we’re picking up a couple more left siders in Slick Willy and (perhaps) Berahino. I do understand why. It’s that right sided players these days are a bit pricier. What I would have liked was a pacy RM, but lacking that, one or two pacy LM/strikers are certainly better than nothing. Ah, well. Cabaye says nobody wanted him. It seems so strange we wouldn’t have snapped him up. Surely it’s not just all fans who can see he not only would have been one of the best players we could have signed, but one of the most useful in terms of, erm, leadership, guidance, etc. Of course we are so rich in onfield leaders. Only having to pay Inter 6 million to take him off our hands for the year, and 14 million for a permanent move, seems like a good deal to me at this point. Sorry, Erik.
Except the details say we won't be getting £14m - they say Inter will pay a £6m loan fee, with the option of a £14m deal at the end of the season. If there is anything to it, hopefully the revenue goes on Yarmolenko rather than Bolasie.
Interesting article about the transfer window by Jermaine Jenas...... https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/ex...e-for-overlong-transfer-window-163725087.html
It was changed awhile ago, it's taken you all a long time to notice. Then again I expect most users just skip to further down the page when they see Boss' name on a post Anyone can request theirs to be changed. Boss' was just us messing around.
In that case, I'd like to have "SoS, Not606's number one poster and king of the forum" then please, YV. And if there's enough space, stick "Pulis sucks" as well, just to piss off Boss. Thanks
He said that anyone can request theirs to be changed. He didn't say that we'd change it to what they asked for...
Bid number two shot down!.. http://www.wba.co.uk/news/article/wba-albion-berahino-tottenham-hotspur-2646148.aspx
I wonderif we'll offer something like £18m plus Fazio? The whole thing stinks of a charade to me, for some reason.
