I always thought Rooney would bring more to the team than Ronaldo.

I wouldn't trade them, I'd keep Nani, Valencia, Young and Park on the wing (good enough to win the league), and keep Rooney as he tracks back and helps the team out.

Also, you got Ronaldo for £80 mil, which was a good enough reason to sell him (though don't see why that has to do anything with the thread).

Still can't believe he went for £80m. What in God's name has football come to. The world in fact that a football team would pay £80m for one player who could suddenly get injured in his next game and never play again!

All that money and we still have big problems with recession. Ridiculous

Wait i seriously dont understand whats all this bull**** about ronaldos attitude?

At every club hes been to espcially man united, the manager has commented on how it would be him last leavining training, and training the hardest. yet people say he has a bad attitude? not to mention like someone else mentioned forgot who, someone who can score as many goals, as him probabily has the right attitude, the winning attitude, score and score till you win the game.

And the reason id take ronaldo over rooney if i was a man united fan would be.

Ever since he was about 22 ronaldo ( along with messi ) has been the most consitent player in the world, no denying it, love him or hate him, he'll score you over 40 goals a seaon if fit, which he usualy is, even in his first season with real madrid, where he missed 4months+ he still managed to score i think 27 goals? his goal scoring his phenonamal, 84 in 87 or something along those lines.

He gets more assits than rooney, also, so all the people saying rooney is blah blah brings more to the team, no he doesnt.

And you can all say he doesnt trackback, he kinda does, he normally always goes back for corners, but thats besides the point, the point is ronaldo is a straight goalscorer, he gurantees you goals, which is what wins you games.

i know some people will say rooney is more vital, but i honestly think their just biast cause they cant take ronaldo left you guys, but whatever to each their one

EDIT: The person who keeps going on and on about how when they were both at UTD, Rooney was missed more, im not sure if he was or not but please post some stats first.

Valenica25 - Just to make clean on my point I'm a big fan of Nani, but the fact we have so much fire power on the wings he cant think week in, week out he'll be starting games!

I don't understand your comment for a minute (later) that you hope he leaves "WTF", why should any player think there there be in our great team "Starting" week in, week out... This is Manchester United not bloody City, Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea, working under the best manager of all time (Fact).

If Nani loves our great club, then he will understand and accept his has a part to play within the group of players.

Very well said, I SAF would be the first person to say if any of his players attitude wasn't right no matter who he was. I think we all forgot what happen with Ruud van-Nistelrooy & Roy Keane come to mind. That's why SAF loves the Lit-Pea, and I quote: His comes in at 9am (does gym work to build up), then trains with the first team, and then does extra trainer and leaves at 4pm now you tell me another football that does that?

Most player do what 4hrs a day max ha,ha and they call that work lol. I think its clean to see the thing with Chic his is amazing attitude, Ronaldo was the same and would also stay after training to work on his free kicks or whatever, i think all great players want to better them self's time and time again, that's why there so called attitude is so strong.

I love Rooney's work rate and his attitude for not wanting to lose, but if where talking ability as well as this then Ronaldo all day long. I think we need to remember Ron's never said a bad word about us and has always spoke of is love for our great club and manager.

The thing that baffles me most is United fans willing to forgive Rooney for what he said. He disrespected everything the manager and the team stand for. Everything the club has given him and everything his team mates have helped him achieve. Whether he did it to move away or whether he did it for more money, it was disrespectful and I personally won't forgive Rooney for doing that. Yes I will support him while he plays for the team, yes I think he is our best player but I wouldn't care at all if he was sold tomorrow.

Agreed. I will not forgive him after what he said about the club but will support him 100% when he is playing in a United shirt.

Think this go's without saying gents, But there two keys facts in the whole Rooney thing.

After what he did and said, I dont believe it was for more money as the contract we offered him and he ended up signing was the same deal as before he open his brain-dead mouth. So he was offered no increase etc.

The 2nd key fact is, when he come out and said he wanted to leave, Gill & the Glazers give him a personal guarantee that SAF would have a large summer Kettie for re-vestment into the team. Now If Rooney had not said he wanted to leave then I wounder if this summers spending would be what it is etc?

At the end of the day Rooney's, Rooney's if the lad couldn't kick a ball then I'm sure he would be in jail by now as he is brain-dead and has a record of doing stupid things.

I think Rooney said what alot of fans were thinking re the lack of reinvestment in the squad, but he could of handled it better.

Saying that, it was the club who went public with it, in my opinion to force his hand. You have got to wonder how many players in the past have used this sort of tactic in negotitions without the club going public with it ?

I thought it was leaked, then the club had to confirm it and go public etc.

Lets be honest if anyone from the media would have gotten hold of him and ask him outright about it I think he would have confirmed it so they would have looked worst etc. But yes he should of handled it a lot better and had more respect for our great club, Rooney's a great player for us, but his not one of our greatest players, look at the past when the like's of Best & Ronnie left they were never disrespect to our club.

But even without these big money signings Rooney wants United have proved they are the 2nd best team in Europe over the past 5 years. It's no shame being 2nd behind this Barcelona team. We all know Rooney isn't going to be signed by Barca so where else would he go? City? Obviously for more money then isn't it.

He is our best player and as long as he plays for United I will support the lad but if he left tomorrow I wouldn't bat an eyelid. Give me a Hernandez who is desperate to play for United than this ungrateful bastard.

He said he wanted to leave. That was it for me. When a player doesn't want to be there then I don't want them there. If he has ANY doubts about the club then he doesn't deserve to play for them. There are people out there who would die to play for United and this ungrateful scouse bastard has the cheek to say we lack his ambition.

Sure come out and say we need to sign better players to take us to the next level but to say he wants to leave pisses all over the club and especially the manager who has shown such faith in him.

Agree with everything, everyone said but as long as he plays for our great club I will support him. Yes his brain-dead and at times does and says things you couldn't believe but the scarey fact is, Rooney's one of our best players and does in fact made us tick, we have no one else like him and I SAF knows this, proving this is the only reason why SAF hasn't kicked this child like Muppet to the kerb.

SAF doesn't accept disrespectful players or anyone knocking what our great club stand for or our great (2nd to none) history. There come a day when the great man steps down and I just pray he writes one final book covering his life at united, no doubt this issue will come up and maybe then where knows his true honest thoughts on the matter.

Just remember, Rooney has a proven history of doing and saying stuip things on and off the field, we have to remember the boy does come from Liverpool at the end of the day!

And if we didn't need him as much as we do, and the great man himself SAF didn't require him. He'll be gone (fact)

If we did a City and where to rename our great ground, it would be called "Ambition" year in, year out we go beyond last years achievements and aim higher, and higher. No other club in the world does this in my eyes.

We are different, we are special, we are: MANCHESTER UNITED.
