Match Day Thread PL: Arsenal vs Liverpool

It was probably one of the most entertaining 0-0 I've seen for a while. Chelsea and Utd look distinctly average to be honest. Only City look like quality so far this season. I expect us to get better. But I have to say I think Liverpool look quite good, your new players have got something about them and it looks like Brenda has finally got some sort of depth in the squad. I'd expect you to be challenging for top 4 this season.

 

Firmino needs more time to adjust but speed glimpses of the ability he has.

Thought Ibe was disappointing again when he came on tonight but not the ideal game for him either.

No complaints about anyone else, thought they were all superb. Benteke and Coutinho are looking awesome.

Question though; why did we buy Ings....?

 

I really can't see what many of you seem to, I am not saying the guy is a bad player, just that I have never seen him do anything more than I would expect from any midfielder in the league

 

We lack depth in certain areas, especially when you consider the quality in depth.

Tonight was a much better starting XI though

 

At your expense no doubt. You were there to be had today. United would've done a job on you. Liverpool didnt. That says it all Piskie.

You may not like United and it's understandable why, but from today's showing there's nothing to fear from Arsenal.

 

When we want to go ultra attacking

 

Three games in and he's played a total of ninety minutes

 

so we are not left short for strikers if we manage to get rid of the turds we have clinging on for dear life in ballo and borini lol

I'm more indifferent to Utd than dislike. Also I don't agree that you would have done 'a job' on us either. Liverpool defended well. I'd expect us to get better as the season progresses and if Liverpool continue their good form then it could be your place in the top 4 that they threaten.

The Utd of this year would not do a job on arsenal
. The evidence is so far Utd have been predictable and slow.

It all evens out. There was one against Bournemouth that should have been denied for offside... And one against Arsenal that should have been given.

Even if you had scored, Arsenal would have got three or four against you too

 

Just bcos you disagree doesnt mean it's not true. Name a season in the last 10 yrs when that wasnt the case. United have a habit of smelling fear in Arsenal, and it was in abundance in that first half.

Liverpool proved again today why they have a poor record against the top 4 last season. Any side vying for top 4 wpuld have smelt blood and made it count. You'll likely finish top 4 but after your first 3 games you're going to have improve massively to challenge. Nothing so far suggests you will.

 

Like last season...and the 10 before that?

 

Fair result overall and Liverpool showed that they have learnt twice this season from the horrors of last season. Once winning at Stoke and another getting a point at the Emirates. No reason why you shouldn't challenge for top 4.
