We are seeing a weakness in his game in terms of protecting the ball when coming back from left foot to right and they are on him but he's been solid.

What great experience for him this

Regardless of the result, this performance leaves plenty of optimism for me. I was worried we'd be stale and boring, but if this games to go by then the more this team plays together the better we'll get. Firmino has shown moments of class, onces he gels and we get Sturridge in this attack I think we'll have a very potent attacking unit.

 

Think Lucas has done ok considering he has not had much football recently. Can started off poorly by giving the ball away and doing stupid 6ft passes to put others in trouble but has improved as the game has gone on.

Clyne is playing well, Gomez has been caught out a bit and has not got a clue going forward so always passes it back.

Firminho has done ok for his first full game, think the pace of the prem has caught him out but once he gets used to it he is going to be good.

Skerts and Lovren had a couple of iffy moments early on but seem to have settled down.

Czech has been brilliant....just our luck after he was so crap in the previous games.

Man of the match in the first half can only be one person though........the linesman who flagged their goal offside, didn't even know we had signed him. Never saw any leaning photos of him pre season

 

Benteke really should have smashed that pass from the firm one into the back of the net along with Cech's hand

I think Gomez is something coming inside and getting caught out a little, leaving quite a big gap for Arsenal to expose and I guess being right footed and a CB is why he feels more comfortable playing a bit further inside.

ON the ball and 1v1 he's been good though.

 

It's so refreshing not to see a great fat lump standing watching the opposition player attack our goal with the ball he gave away!

Also a bit disappointed that Rossiter has been given a sub spot over Markovic. I hope it's not due to Markovic leaving or anything, rather something in training BR sees.

Skertl is dropping off a bit and not sure of his lines but has been pretty good overall

Can if anything is showing when far up the pitch why he should play holding. Top man for the tackles good skill but not for me a player that should be that far up.

Just showing his ability overall by doing well overall.

433 gets the best out of coutinho... I've said this for him all week. Firmino has work well enough right side. Prob get to 65 mins there then ibe on.

 

I think it's lack of CM's that gave him his spot, plus nice to see a local lad on the bench.

Fair enough. Can't complain - Markovic has been told by BR that the season ahead he will be given a chance and it's up to him to take it. Not much more a young player can expect.
Just disappointed because I have high hopes for the lad. We'll see.
