This game is tailor made for Chamberlain to start in, in my opinion. His pace and directness would pin them back and force them to drop deeper.
So we've lost our 2 main Cb's together, ****ing hell, every week it's something....And it's always the same ****, how many times does Mert get sick? And how many times has Kos been out with a back injury?
No Arsenal fan can argue with this. If he wasn't fit enough then he wouldn't be on the bench. Wenger is really pissing me off. And the transfer window hasn't even closed yet.
I'm actually contemplating whether I would take a draw now or not. Having both Kos and Merts out gives them a huge psychological advantage. Especially Benteke who I think is a few inches taller than Chambers and Gabriel.
If we don't get the 3 points tonight Wenger definitely opened himself up for some harsh criticism. Big night, anything but 3 points is not acceptable, no silly excuses afterwards of 'a point is not that bad'. If we are supposed title contenders, it's 3 points or nothing tonight, simples as that. Those 11 players on the pitch tonight need to make themselves counted and prove their worth to the manager.
I'm calling it now, we will concede from at least two set pieces. I'm not being a downer, this is what happens when you don't have adequate replacements in the squad.
Lol, the funny thing is I can see some people resorting to that excuse of but but we had so many players out....
No Kos and Mert is a big blow and a massive test for Gabriel and Chambers. We need Coq to do his job and Ramsey and Cazorla to get back and help him out too.
It's just bad vibes right now, I'm sure a lot of fans right now at the stadium aren't happy and have the same bad vibes....This club and manager always persist in creating it as well, just like the first home game, everything going good and we're all positive, and then BOOM we get ****ed 2-0. The whole situation is enough to piss anybody off except TY, this constant injury bullshit problem, lack of transfer activity when it should be done already, players who should be playing but aren't. We can still win today, but it's just unnecessary to create bad vibes, why can't we just sort **** out and do things properly? Stop the constant injuries, have most of our transfers done already, and on it goes.
To be honest, we can make all the excuses we want but at the end of the day, it's a squad game and players have to prove their worth at some point. A huge test for Gabriel and Chambers, but they need to prove that they're good enough to be challenging for the starting spots.
I don't think it's at all the case that we don't have adequate replacements - I think if Chelsea lost terry and Cahill before a game or City lost kompany and magala(sp?) then it would hurt them. I do think tho that if we don't get the performance we want then the criticism should be - why isn't a proper wide player like oxo playing? And why isn't debuchy playing to give experience to the back 4? But all this is premature as we may blow them away in the next 90mins, who knows?
City? They have 4 quality CB's, did you just see who they signed? Kompany-Mangala out, just bring in oatmeal and that Argentinian dude.
I think playing Ramsey to help crowd the midfield is probably a good option given our two CBs are out. He will help the defense more than oxo would. While I get the point about pinning them back and playing the Ox it could leave us more open so I can see why Ramsey might have got the nod.
