The U21s play their first home game of the Professional Development League 2 season on Monday night when they host Huddersfield Town at North Ferriby United (KO 7pm). Tony Pennock’s side has made an encouraging start to the new campaign, claiming a 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace and a 3-1 win at Watford as the Tigers’ youngsters get used to life in a new division. And Pennock hopes that the team's start to the season will attract a few more people through the gate: "It would be nice for the lads and if the fans do have a bit of spare time on a Monday evening to come down and watch that would be great. "It gives the lads a boost and the fans an opportunity to see the youngsters that we have coming through the Academy. We have some talented youngsters, as shown by the three that have already played in the first team this season." Admission to Monday night’s game is priced £4 adults and £2 concessions. Please note that Season Cards are no longer valid for U21 fixtures. http://www.hullcitytigers.com/news/...st-home-game-2641080.aspx#C7smgu9VyxawF6Wi.99 If we want to up our attendances at academy games, why have we just scrapped free entry for pass holders? Seems a contradiction to me, it's not as if pass holders aren't paying enough already.
Apparently season card holders have to pay to get in. Somewhat mean minded I think and I don't recollect this being stated when passes were on sale. How many other clubs charge passholders for reserve team football?
Apparently, as part of our Cat 2 status, some academy games will now be played at the KC and these will be free entry (they'll probably be played immediately after first team games, in the hope that they can get people to stay). Update - Five games are currently scheduled to be played at the KC, they include Leeds, Forest and Sheff Wed.
It seems Huddersfield U21's have no trouble scoring, they beat Colchester 4-0 and drew 5-5 with QPR in their opening two games.
Highlights from last night, great strike from Clark on about 2.30 and a decent free kick from Townsend for the first...
All three should be in the first team. Three unbelievable strikes. Great pass by super max in the build up to his goal anarl.
Aside from his goal, Clark was pretty ineffective last night; he gave the ball away far too often and I've certainly seen him have better games. Townsend looked pretty handy though, didn't know he could take a free kick.
Looked like a decent game, hopefully some for the future! It'd be nice to see the kids come through & then we wouldn't have to worry about the transfer window!
I invested in Tigersplayer and saw the goals there and then it turns out OLM can find them on youtube for nothing. Anyway that second goal was ****ing amazing.
If you're on the M1 at St. Albans, it's a mere 5 more roads away (M18, M62, A63, Ferriby high street, Church road).
