Thats just general manager speak, almost every manager could say similar after a win. We will have a three man midfield!!!!!

Bugger off you menace :emoticon-0110-tongu you know what i mean, we have only had a proper three in midfield for the twenty five minutes or so when Can came on against stoke.

  4. We've played with a central three for a 180 minutes so far this season, but granted Can as only been involved in the latter stages.

We've not been playing 4231 as most would suggest, Lallana as been part of a three man midfield hence him not hugging the line. Hendo as been holding whilst Lallana and Milner roam. Ibe was on right in the first game (no width on left) and left in the second (Clyne provided width on right) leaving Coutinho free to roam around the left and right respectively behind Benteke.

Know what you are saying but if anything it played more like a 42211 with lala and ibe ahead of the central 2, this for me was particularly evident against ballmouth when they just walked wide around our midfield pair, granted ibe tried and lallana did get back a lot to defend but generally they were chasing back too late.

Either way as much as I like lala (i still have hope) he is not a central midfielder and certainly not of the quality to play away at arsenal.

Oh I do agree. I really do. The problem is as I posted the obvious tactic to use is not this one is it.

Lallana will be blown away by arsenal.

Milner will have to dig in... this midfield ended up digging in v bournemouth ffs.

It got visibly worse when Can came on for Henderson. Henderson will be a big miss for you and I can't believe Brendan risked damaging his foot more against Bournemouth when you had Arsenal coming next.

It may actually work in our favour because Henderson & Milner would not be suited at all as a midfield pairing to take on Arsenal. If we have to bring Emre Can and Lucas in it will benefit us IMO.

Lucas would definitely help to break things up.

The way he played pre season, Arsenal midfielders would walk past him and he'd run the risk of a red card from commiting 5 fouls in first 15 minutes <yikes>

Looked it in the 1 or 2 pre seasons games I saw.

Fact he's not been on the bench last couple of games and has apparently been told he can leave if he wants would suggest to me that he won't be involved against Arsenal.

Great shame, I always liked him because he is an honest player who makes the most of his attributes. He can't be much older than 27/28? injury can be a cruel thing.

I think he's more the type of player that steps up in competitive games. I also believe pre-season games aren't really good indicators of anything.

Yeah after getting stick early on he really turned it around and for a period of time was a top class DM. He's never really recovered from injury and although never had pace, he's lost a bit of mobility.

I think a move to Italy would suit him

**** team, most teams would batter it because it has no midfield.

Walcott can't even get in your starting 11 so how he gets in a combined team is beyond me

    Cech
    Clyne Kos Sakho Monreal
    Henderson Cazorla
    Sanchez Coutinho Ozil
    Giroud
