Athletics has a big problem at the moment because allegations by an English newspaper and a German TV station suggest that there is widespread cheating going on. The quickest way to restore credibility (as I see it) is to have mandatory drugs testing of all medal winners at all athletics meetings. If somebody is cheating, you kick them out for life with no second chances. There was somebody running the 100 metres today who has already been given two chances, which is two more than I would have allowed. If they do not act, they will end up with a sport that nobody wants to watch any more. Then Lord Coe might as well take over running the Tour De France.
