That is utterly, utterly astonishing. Their "fastest" (LOL) car is over 11kph slower in a straight line than the slowest Renault powered car... slower than a Manor..... which we know is fundamentally 80bhp down at least on the 2015 Ferrari power unit, but is running the wrong software, so is probably more like 140bhp down.... I genuinely wonder what figures they are getting and think they are aiming for because whatever they are, they are effectively in a different formula from everyone else
With McLarens issues they may as well start in the pitlane with a full wet setup. At the moment it's coming at 4pm, but I doubt you can be that certain 24 hours before the weathers here.
GP3 race is going well, we spent a good third of it under the Virtual Safety Car and now the stewards have forgotten to put the chequered flag out.
GP2 and GP3 have been a absolute mess today. The nasty GP2 crash: https://pbs.twimg.com/tweet_video/CNBLIQAWUAARPew.mp4
FIA have finally worked out where the McLarens get to start. I'm not sure what will be happening with Kimi.
I feel sorry for Grosjean, best qualifying of the year by some margin and the gearbox change wipes it out.
McLaren may have serious issues today, the headwind up the kemmel straight is pretty strong at the moment, will they make it to the top?
Today looks all about the start and the run after turn 1. Surely a Merc in clean air dominates this race by a margin? If Bottas can get a lightning get away he could cause some problems and keep things interesting. I expect a Merc domination though as a show of strength after Hungary.
Normally at Spa you almost don't want to be in P1 on lap one, the tow up Kemmel can be huge, with P3-P5 able to jump to the front sometime. This year though cars seem to struggle to follow each other, I wonder if we'll see some serious squirming through Eau Rouge on lap one.
Pirelli Motorsport @pirellisport 2m2 minutes ago Two stops theoretically quickest strategy for #BelgianGP: start on soft, soft again lap 13, medium lap 28. #F1
Can't see Nico being too keen on that idea, I can see the same happening all over again, it's been too quiet at Mercedes!
Mercedes have modified their floor just in case it was responsible for the tyre going boom please log in to view this image Every little helps, in slowing them down.
