Burnley are paying Brentford 9 million yes that's 9 million for their star striker Andre Gray,(who I've never heard of), speaks a lot about what club are prepared to pay when replacing their star striker (Ings). It's a pity our lot appear unable/unwilling to pay the going rate. Does this fee put Austin's price into the right bracket.
Unfortunately a proven striker will be a premium cost these days, there's not that many around mate. Add in the fact that they know Burnley have the money from the Ings sale and fees are elevated. Bit like the situation we're in except we're desperate and clubs know this as do the players who will no doubt demand a higher wage. **** like but that's modern day football for you.
Burnley have a habit of churning out goal scorers, Austin, Ings, Rodriguez to name a few. I think they'll be due some of that coin from Austin's sale as well, which is probably why QPR are being so stubborn. Clubs in the Championship prepared to gamble big for a shot at the big time, it's gonna pay off for 3 of them.
Just seen this paragraph on the swansea board and it makes you wonder just what we are doing: "Bony, Allen and Sinclair we sold for a total of 50m. Can't remember how much we sold Davies and vorm for, think it was 10m plus Siggy? But that would bring our total up to 60m plus a highly valued player. When you consider that with this money we got, Shelvey for 5m, Ki for 5m, Naughton 5m, Montero for 4m, Cork for 3m, Fernandez for 8m? Ayew, Fabianski and Gomis free, Siggy as part of the selling deal. That's 9 first team players (plus one sub from cork, shelvey or ki) with a 30m profit and our squad is leagues stronger than it was. I'd say we've done pretty damn well on the transfer front." So a 60m outlay from a 90m income for a quality side! (Don;t rate Shelvey personally but that might just be me!)
Yep, if it carries on clubs will have almost the same financial debt as Greece has now; it's not sustainable. Money launderers, gangsters, self styled despots and idiots running the clubs and in league with the gambling industry and Merdoch. who would have thought that the beautiful game would have been hijacked like this? Still China is in meltdown and has unleashed its pet pit bull, N Korea. IS wanted to rule the world, Russia wants to fight the West, Greece is playing 1st to blink with Europe and an asteroid is due to hit the USA in September....so why worry........we are bottom of the league and the only way is up! KTF
Dont wanna ruin your day but.... Not only is there 19 places above us.. BUT a couple of divisions below us!! Just saying like
Villa have spent £55m apparently ! Shelvey and Montero are excellent players. How much have Man c spent this year ? about half the debt of Greece.
It is getting daft but I still stand by Austin being a great investment even for big money. He is proven to score in poor sides and is young enough to have resale value.
Can't see him going to Palace. Are they really in a position to buy Wickham for £9m and have him as back up to Austin?
We did mate. Although i can see Pulis using Connor as a target man and Austin feeding off him. He played that Role at QPR with Zamora as the target man.
A few daft paper rumours today, confirm the worlds gone mad. THE SUN: Manchester United are not flinching at Neymar's mega £240million price tag as they look to sign the Brazil international to become the global face of Old Trafford. DAILY EXPRESS: Chelsea are preparing a whopping £72m raid to sign Paul Pogba.
WBA are reportedly paying 8 million for Jonny Evans from Manure. 6 for the fee plus 2 as add ons. Seems a lot of money too me.
