Something that may have been overlooked today...............Carlton Morris scored for Accies in their 2-0 win away at Inverness
I seem to remember we suffered the same fate last time we were in the PL. I seem to remember Given playing out of his skin for Villa I think it was. Still, very happy with 4 points and 8th place!!!
Still harsh on Brady Rob! The only effect Shakiri had was the freekick. He made great tackles and didn't let him rip him apart, and that guy is world class. On top of that, his balls into the box were great!
This comment sums it all up for me - "Despite the constant menacing threat of Diouf up front, Stoke will feel they got out of jail. With a little more finesse up front, Norwich could have won at a canter. Those predicting relegation for Alex Neil’s side may need to revisit their crystal balls. On Shaqiri’s unpredictable journey, it is next stop Luton Town."
After watching match of the Day I feel even better about the game, we had many great chances an Butland was just superb. The only one I would question was Jerome's miss a little more composure needed. He tends to be better than that but it shows that we do need another striker.
The foul that led to their goal was so avoidable which is disappointing. But 3 games and in all of them we've played well, so that's pleasing. With Tettey 2 yellow cards away from a suspension, could do with Mulumbu back soon.
I'm greatly relieved we're doing so well so far and we've still not played our full starting 11 due to injuries, be interesting to see how things pan out with Ollson & Mulumbu back. OK a loss, draw & win might not "sound" that great but in all 3 matches we played positively, put some great plays together & could easily have won all 3 with better officials & a touch of luck
Paul Merson doesn't agree: "Norwich are the same as last time they were in the league. They missed too many chances. Butland made some good saves but sometimes it is bad finishing and you have got to score. The manager will be thinking that in the three games they should have scored two or three. They could rue those dropped points at the end of the season." (SkySports)
Pretty much how I feel about our performances to date and at least we're playing attacking football!!
What is that old soak on about? The reason we were relegated last time was because we didn't create enough chances. We've created more chances in these first three games than we did in half a season under Hootun, or so it seems anyway. I've seen enough already to believe we'll stay up but if we could just bring in that elusive striker it would virtually guarantee it.
I'm afraid I can't entirely disagree with Merson. We're not as defensive now, but lack of clinical finishing definitely cost us. The performances are great, but we won't always play well. We need these points.
We've played 3 teams thus far, 2 of which at the level we would aspire to and haven't been outclassed by any of them. A bit of fine tuning of the aim and abit more luck, and we'll be golden.
