  2. Or, as a fun of football rather than business or finances, I focused on the players and playing side <whistle>

Cos you say player should be picked on performance alone.

Tell that to sherwood who was told to pick adebayor same as avb who refused.

Or rafa who'd drop benayoun every 5 mins for anyone...

    Etc etc.

Lallana doesn't merit a slot imo over can at this point even if we think Firmino isn't really ready.

  6. A manager should pick a player based on performance alone. What you're bringing into the conversation is what the owner, Chiar, director, etc wants to see happen. One man should run a football team, not two. **** what the guy above wants, let the manager pick the side.

Your last sentence makes all that before it void.

Sure right up until the guy above says you are out....

But you are right it's quite quite rare any owner or ceo or technical director playing this game actually gets success.

Oh and lallana is anonymous so Rodgers is living a little fantasy right now that's got about 26 hours to run... Can't change a winning team

A international player and captain of Southampton he should walk into the Liverpool team and look comfortable but he looks so out of his depth it's strange.

We give him licence to roam and when he's on the ball he's given licence to do whatever he wants with it. At Southampton he would glide past players with ease and create plenty of chances, now he easily gets dispossessed.

Either he feels himself that he can't be the player Liverpool want him to be or he reached his prime at Southampton at a early age and is now on decline.

It's this simple. For Southampton were 14th and 8th with him in the team with 56 poi to when we finished 2nd.

Ermmmmm. .it's kind of easy to look good v lesser sides and not have any expectations v top sides but come here and every game rightly or wrongly you are expected to be right on it.

He's just not that good, he's light and needs a lot of space to do his thing so bit of pressing and a bit of physicality and he's blown off it time and again.

The step up to top 6 let alone top 4 is huge. The expectations are huge.... and no amount of excuses will make a difference.

Scapegoat? No, least productive player? Yes. He just seems a bit aimless, but then again so is Ibe, but after Ibe's performances last season, I think he is getting less of the flax, but Lallana has nowhere to hide, as he has never sparked. It would be nice to see the stats for who has had what names put on the back of their shirts since their release, I doubt many have gone for Lallana.

He's not been bad, but when we are struggling for goals, he stands out as a creative void.

    Ibe gets two things

    1. He was good in preseason... better than lallana.

    2. He's 19.

As a 25mil 27 year old senior player lallana is playing worse than the 19 year old.

I've said ibe hasn't been great at all too.

  13. 1. Fair point, can't argue as I didn't watch

    2. And? Age is irrelevant, you either perform or you don't. If you're good then you're old enough and all that.

    Transfer fee is irrelevant.

Lallana as been better than Ibe and I'm a big Ibe fan!

2 is not irrelevant at at all!!!!!

Age = 100s of games under your belt... all the stamina that goes with years of pro football etc etc.

Ibes 19 you'd expect him to fade a bit in games just like gomez as he builds up to this.... he's not got the experience to see different options that trying his tricks and crossing etc.

Lallana is 27, in his prime and as noble said a void. .

  15. You don't let the team have a weak point because a players young! You pick the eleven that form the best team and if that youngster isn't performing they should be dropped. Same goes for whatever age The player is. There go, age is irrelevant!

    Nah.....

If you put a kid in you are doing it with the full knowledge that he's got to learn at the same time.....

End of. To expect the same out of a kid and a senior pro would be insane.

The kid playing v Navas today was given very little help from kone and he just got by but navas created 3/4 clear scoring chances for city.

Gomez got the same help off lallana v stoke (or lack there of)

The point is a guy whos been around the block is supposed to know better

You forgive a kid a mistake.

  17. It's not about expectations, it's about how they perform. If they are doing a good enough job then fine but if they aren't performing and therefore damaging the team they shouldn't get special treatment, something else players seriously need to learn!

IMO Ibe as been worse than Lallana but for sale of argument, let's say they've been the same. Why should one be dropped and not the other based on performance?

What you're suggesting / arguing is that we should be carrying passenger!!!

Ibe was better game one on the right. In game 2 as I said on that match thread he offered zero on the left.

Lallana offered ****e all in either game.

If you've read my suggested teams I've said let ibe work wide right to push on Montreal v arsenal and coutinho wide left.... lallana won't match up with Bellarin. . No chance.

If Firmino were ready and I knew what he'd do I'd suggest him instead but I don't know he is do I?
