Sorry if ita already been done. Mags looking decent, that new lad is lightening UTD looking very flat. something proper pissing me off though. Why the **** are the commentators referring to Depay as memphis? WTF every footballer since the coming of christ has been referred too by their 2nd name FFS! ****s *well except the brazilians
Apparently he doesn't want to be referred to as his surname as he doesn't get on with his father - or something like that. Pretty sure there's a family issue why he has Memphis on his shirt etc. ps. Jesus I was not expecting us to get anything today!
Still its doing my ****ing head in! Your lot almost nicked it in the end. UTD look very bland TBF like
They walked all over us for the first 20 minutes and if they had scored then I think they would have blown us away but they blustered out after that and for the following 70 minutes they edged the game without being too threatening. I wouldn't call the last 3/4 of the game even as they were still the better team but it didn't feel like we were going to be battered.
We were ****ing awful out there! Started well then just stopped bothering. Drop Memphis (his father abandoned his family in Ghana and he disowned the name Depay) and get Fellaini back. Wijnaldum was ****ing class out there, what a player that is. Newcastle defended well after the first 20 mins as well, Coloccini in particular. Not sure how much of Wijnaldum the camera shows off television but the guy is just so good off the ball. Mitrovic is a tank as well, proper powerhouse forward. Wish I could say something about our players being good.
Been impressed with our signings this summer. Mbemba had an off day by his standards (but still almost set up a goal and kept a clean sheet) but Mitro looks set up for this league, Thauvin is definitely going to be an improvement on Cabella and Wijnaldum is a next level signing for us - putting himself in the shop window for a year or two before moving on for a hefty fee I suspect. Colo did look good, been shocking for about 18 months so a good game was due.
Mbemba was getting mugged all over for the first phase of the game, fair play to him though he recovered well. We were desperate for Fellaini I have no idea why he never got brought on. Was one of those days in front of goal for us, a sharper Hernandez buries that chance. Recorded the game for when I get home but I don't think I'll bother re-watching!
When Carrick came on instead of Fellaini I think it was a backwards step by LVG. If you'd been 1-0 I'd have understood it but you were controlling the game anyway, you needed more threat.
Carrick controlled the game mate, that's all LVG cares about, **** the result. Fellaini should have come on for Memphis/Adnan. Ah well, could have been worse!
I thought he was serving the third match of his three game suspension for his red card on the last day of last season? Was he on the bench?
Yeah I've just been told that! Got to the match about 3 mins late so didn't realise. We needed him though! Glad he's back now.
Man.u v ****ing skunks. What a ****e game... Sat with potential customers. Wine..i ****ing hate wine.and try and talk about that ****e..ta very much..
Think that's harsh on Memphis mate, he will take a while to get up to speed but everything I've seen suggests he'll be quality for you once he gets the minutes under his belt. Far more to him than Januzaj who I don't rate personally. You're right on Wijnaldum, he's so far out of our league, an utterly sensational footballer. Our recruitment has been absolutely immense this Summer. Our only problem are a Colback-Anita midfield and McLaren seemingly adopting Obertan as his little pet player. If we can get Mitrovic, Perez, Thauvin, Wijnaldum, Sissoko fit and firing then we've got one of the best attacking forces outside the top 4 imo, that's with Cisse, De Jong, Aarons on the bench too. Your lot have a long way to go but a couple of signings before September and I think 3rd or 4th for you again.
Thanks for your pearls of wisdom. I don't pay attention to hippies who don't rate Adnan though. Memphis will come good, Fellaini is ****ing lethal when used correctly. Don't think I'm writing Memphis off, I'm just highlighting that he's not good enough to keep Fella out the team, yet. Januzaj ripped you lot to bits at St James' you have a short memory!
How does Fellaini fit into the more "progressive" style of football that you're trying to implement now? We saw this problem with Moyes where he tried to utilise the same player he had at Everton but in a totally different style of play. Fellaini was a beast last season when the balls were getting pumped into him and he was winning headers. I'd have thought LVG would see that as a step back. Januzaj is just too many frills not enough substance for me. Nowhere near the goals/assists output he should be getting. I prefer Ashley Young. Ripping our defence to shreds is hardly validation of someone's talents, Shane Long and Peter Odemwingie do it to us twice a season Having said that, Ronaldo was similar when he first joined Man U so if it pans out like that I'll be eating my words
He doesn't, but that doesn't matter, we win games with him in the team. I get frustrated with Adnan as well, but I think with more games he'll prove to be a top player for us. Same as Memphis, but I think we needed that bully up front today, we were too lightweight in the box. Fellaini is the answer for me.
Bart! It's been a long time. I see you have dropped the "LOL" from your signature at the end of posts these days. A sign of how things are going for you my friend?
