Personally I'm not very confident about this game at all. I don't know why some supporters think this is just going to be a turn up and win. Take out the two 'easier' games against Vitesse and add last season's end of season league results and we are in a bit of slump. Presumably as a team we might now have learned to concentrate right up to the half-time whistle instead of turning off at 44 minutes and also learning to defend from our own corners might help too! Making the same mistakes in consecutive games is more annoying than losing...almost.
No one's expecting to just turn up and win, Watford have played well in the two games so far. If we turn up though, we should win. Would be happy with a draw though.
Fair enough, I am guilty of hyperbole, but look at the Prediction League, there are 3-0, 3-1 and even a 5-1 scoreline predicted. Okay it's the Prediction League and some people will always predict a win but a lot of posters don't seem to think the score will even be close, so that must be sort of reflecting the mood amongst posters on here at least.
I have seen nothing recently that suggests we will get a cricket score, but we pulled a 6-1 against Villa out of the hat, so one can always hope.
Don't think anyone is over confident and even less think we are in a slump. With new players settling in we have made very clear progress game on game so as long as that improvement continues the result is less important than the performance when we look back in this season. That said, a win would be quite handy!
The reason I'm rubbish in the prediction game is that I predict the score that I would want not what I think would actually happen - so this week I've agreed with historyrepeating 2-2 (but obviously we'll win 0-4!)
Fonte! When he did that block right at the end Thursday, he looked like he had jarred his knee. He didn't walk quite right after that.
