Athletics and cycling off the top of my head, where doping has been found. With team games under a referee's scrutiny it's pretty impossible to change it after the event I should think.

Now, if the referee were to be found taking backhanders.... <whistle>

Have been saying this for years, which is why I've called for technology to be implemented as soon as it was possible to do, and in all honesty, that has been available in one form or another, for decades. I don't hanker after the missing arguments in the pub afterwards, by cleaning up bad mistakes. I have never subscribed to the idea that bad decisions even themselves out over a season. I don't give a sh!t whether it slows the game down, so does a team which protests its innocence, or when the opposing teams argue with each other and the officials. It's all just so much bull. The officials should get as many decisions as right as it is possible to do. And that means pretty much every single damn decision in a professional game, because there are no need for excuses. It's perfectly possible and it can be done. When it could directly cost a club its future, or unfairly give another a leg up, which indirectly impacts on other teams too, and given the £multi-millions involved [although this merely highlights the importance], then this is an area in football that has long needed sorting out. The thing is, it's so easily done. Either implement the technology or allow retrospective action.

Even worse from AFCB's perspective, there appears to have been nought wrong with their goal [although I haven't seen it]. Welcome to the PL.

Well subsequently, I have seen it. I can understand how Bournemouth's goal was disallowed, but it's harsh. It's the fact that his arms appear to be using Lovren for leverage, even though close examination shows that he wasn't. Once again, technology would have flagged that one up as OK. For good measure I watched the Coutinho offside and paid close attention to Artur Boruc, where I could. He waited for Coutinho's touch which never came. Offside - wrong decision again.

Mitrovic booking game. Guess how long he lasts before he is booked?

    I'll go with 18 mins.

    Somewhere between 12-13 minutes.

Between this and the sunderland - swansea match this weekend has the potential to be a calamity for the north east. Both teams have been pretty weak so far and Man U and the Swans arent likely to go easy on them. Having said that watch both of them play absolute blinders and me look a fool (and cost me an accumulator.)

The solution I have always suggested is that they have a 5th official in a room with a TV and a microphone connection to the ref. take the Liverpool goal. The 5th ref presses rewind while Liverpool are celebrating. I bet in 5-10 seconds he can see that it is offside and Liverpool are still stood celebrating in the corner. No hold up to the game, no delays. I wouldn't want it done on a big screen, just a 5th ref taking a few seconds when the ball is dead like a goal or a foul.

Indeed, that would be fine. That set-up has been available ever since Instant Replay from video. So near 100% correct decisions have only been possible for the last 50 years. No time at all.

Utd badly need 2 or 3 attacking players. No way will they be top 4 if they continue like this.

Oh look West Ham not protecting their rb/lbs so Bournemouth are ripping them apart. Kind of reminds you of another team...

I suspect United will scramble enough points together by the end of the season (as they did last year), but really should do so much better with what they've spent. Could it be the fault of their manager?

Are there more fickle fans than West Ham? 2 week ago they beat Arsenal and were celebrating the start of a new era and now they're back to booing their own team. And this time they have no scapegoat.
